From coordinating events and community activities to providing volunteer and financial support to local charities, the Raleigh Jaycees offer our members invaluable opportunities to develop leadership skills while networking with other young professionals. The Raleigh Jaycees make an impact in our community and in our members' lives in many ways, and have done so since 1932.

The Raleigh Jaycees are young professionals, ages 21‐40, with an interest in leadership development through community service. The Raleigh Jaycees offer countless opportunities to:
• build professional and personal skills
• get involved in the community
• network professionally
• attend unique and exciting special events
• meet new people
Chartered in 1932, we are an all‐volunteer civic organization that runs over 100 community service and
leadership development projects each year. Annually we donate over $65,000 and countless volunteer hours to area organizations through our various projects.
The Raleigh Junior Chamber, more commonly known as the Raleigh Jaycees, is a proud affiliate of the N.C. Junior Chamber, the U.S. Junior Chamber and Junior Chamber International. There is no other young professionals' organization like the Raleigh Jaycees!
What could you gain from joining over 200 other Triangle professionals aged 21 - 40?
A larger business network. Once you join, you'll have access to chapter communication tools that will facilitate your interaction with others. This is a rich networking environment for connecting with other young professionals, whether you're hoping to find new customers or looking for referrals for services you need.
New professional skills. As young adults, many of us are still in the early stages of our careers, or even changing careers. That's why we offer workshops and leadership development opportunities that expand professional knowledge and confidence. Budgeting, project management, personnel management, fundraising and public speaking are just a few of the skills you can develop or enhance in the Jaycees.
New friends. By participating in projects that interest you, you'll meet people that have similar interests.
The satisfaction of helping others. We do LOTS of community service and charitable fundraising. The opportunities to serve others and feel good about yourself abound in the Jaycees.
New personal skills. Almost no activity is off-limits for Jaycee project subject matter! Past projects have included interior decorating, financial planning, landscaping, mask making, avoiding identity theft, belly dancing, home buying, ? you name it! It always seems a little easier to try new things with a group of people you already know than all by yourself. New project ideas are always welcome!
Great deals on awesome trips. Because we generally bring large groups, we can often negotiate better prices for trips than you could get on your own. Typical annual trips include snow skiing / boarding, camping, whitewater rafting and a beach trip. Sometimes we'll even go somewhere more exotic, like Las Vegas.
Fun opportunities for sports and leisure. We run several fitness events. These projects vary each year but often include seasonal leagues such as sand volleyball, and individual events such as hiking, cycling, rock climbing, golf, horseback riding and canoeing.
A new perspective. We sometimes offer projects that explore interpersonal relationships, religious and spiritual issues, international cultures, and other topics that can help you become 'more enlightened.' We also run a book club and a film club, where you can compare your thoughts and insights with others.
Here is what some of our members have to say about their experience in the Raleigh Jaycees:
"The Jaycees gave me the chance to run a project with a budget of tens of thousands of dollars. Not everything came out the way that I intended, but it gave me the confidence and skills that I needed to direct my career the way that I wanted." - Phil Rau, member since 2001
"Out of the blue one day, a friend told me 'I'm glad you joined the Jaycees: you smile more now." - Ed Blackman, member since 2004
"Through the Jaycee contacts, I bought my house, my taxes are done, I have a will, my home is decorated, my car is fixed, my stereo is hooked up to a new system, I even have an assortment of babysitters, but much more important - I have a beautiful group of lifelong friends." - Lizzie Graybill, member since 1995
