Ralf Gauck – bass legends Danny Thompson or Arild Andersen and even Sting were not the only one who were impressed by his solo bass playing. European music publications judged his CD “Zauberwasser” (Zounds) to be a "benchmark for bass players" and considered him a "sound magician" or a “bass wonder.” Now he produced his new album FIELDS OF GOLD in the world famous RAINBOW STUDIOS of Jan Erik Kongshaug in Oslo / Norway. Ralf recorded songs from STING in his typical way for the acoustic fretless bassguitar. Even STING liked this recordings and supported Ralf to get the permission from EMI Music Pub. to record his songs. The german well known manufacturer for noble audio systems AUDIOTEC FISCHER use this CD as a reference recording for their speakersystems. In december 2007 Ralf won the "German Rock & Pop Award 2007" in the categories "best german bass player" and "best german instrumental solo player". The German wellknown daily newspaper "Die Zeit" picked up his CD "Fields of Gold" in the high score table of the best productions of the year 2007. In november 2008 Ralf got voted as the "best german bass player" and "best german instrumental solo player" and got so once again the "German Rock & Pop Award 2008"
Ralf worked with musicians like Michael Manring, Sandor Szabó, the Ensemble Chantal, Tony Sheridan, Jan Akkerman, Peter Ratzenbeck, Chris Jones, Kosho (Söhne Mannheims), Jacques Stotzem, Claus Boesser-Ferrari or with the former Wings drummer Denny Seiwell. Ralf Gauck endorses Höfner, Mark Acoustic, Schertler Pickups, Delano Pickups, Vovox Cables and Pyramid Strings. As a bass player he was envolved in reference recordings for DYNAUDIO and BOSE and worked in top studios like the Abbey Road Studios / London, Rainbow Studios / Oslo and the Pauler Studios / Northeim. As an author Ralf wrote the books "Stay in Time", "Starterpaket Ukulele" and "Speaking BASSically - Spielen nach Akkordsymbolen" and writes columns for the european bass magazine BASS PROFESSOR. He played concerts among others at the Phönix-Halle / Mainz, Rosengarten / Mannheim, Frankfurter Hof / Mainz, Cavern Club – Liverpool / UK, Jazzfestival Auxerre / F, Beatles Festival / Liverpool / UK, Frankfurt Musicfair, Mosel Festwochen, internationales Zeltfestival Mainz, Global Strings - Alte Feuerwache / Mannheim, Nürnberger Gitarrentage 2006, Open Strings 2006, European Bassday 2006, Budapest / Hungary, Abbey Road on the River Festival Lousiville / USA. Productions among others for ZDF, ARD Radio Bremen, SAT 1, Fernsehen Südwestfunk, Deutschland Radio, BBC Merseyside Liverpool / UK, SWR.
