My Wife, Kathleen A. Roberts, aka 'Maro, Kath, & Madre'
For more than a quarter of a century, I have helped countless families
from all walks of life realize the dream of home ownership. "National Loan Modification Expert" I am a
recognized authority on the real estate business, and have taught
hundreds of first-time buyers, renters, investors and entrepreneurs how
to purchase homes with little or no money down and sell them for a
profit through my four books, numerous public appearances, speeches and
national media coverage.
Considered the best-selling Realtor in America by TIME Magazine and the
number one residential real estate agent in North America, I have sold
50 times more homes than the average, or more than two homes per
weekday. My success isnt due to any strategy or program, but to plain,
old fashioned hard work. Considered a human dynamo, I regularly puts in
10-to 12-hour workdays six days a week, and have an uncanny ability to
grasp the needs and wants of home buyers in the affordable range of the
market. Other real estate agents often turn away buyers struggling to
save for a home or who have credit problems, while I will find ways to
help them become homeowners. Whether its 10,000 or one million dollars,
i give the same great service. Just ask anyone who has been on board
one of the Ralph Roberts Reality L.L.C. vans who enjoyed the
convenience of a chauffeured, weekend tour of area homes for sale.
The son of a carpenter, I grew up watching my father transform once
vacant lots into bustling neighborhoods. Having witnessed the entire
process from the laying of the first foundation stone to the signing of
the closing contract, I understood early on all that underlies the
fresh ink of that signature the hopes and dreams of a family
setting down roots for generations to come. In my home state of
Michigan, i have offered innovative financing options and free services
to struggling auto industry workers to protect the local economy in the
hope of sparking a chain reaction across the country.
What began as an effort to help families buy homes regardless of price
range has blossomed, as I am continually called on by community
leaders, politicians and heads of non-profits, whom I also serves with
the same energy, determination and verve that I bring to my real estate
business. I support several Southeastern Michigan charitable
organizations, who have watched their operating budgets surge as a
result of my fund raising abilities, strong community ties and
reputation.
In addition to regular volunteer work and donations to a number of
charities, I saved a piece of Detroit history. In 2003, I purchased the
Big Nail, a 12-foot, 500 pound nail formerly stuck in the giant
Uniroyal tire on Route I-94, for $3000 on eBay. The giant tire was
originally built for the 1964 Worlds Fair as a ferris wheel, and was
later moved to Allen Park, Michigan. But when I learned of the auction
to benefit the local historical society, I wanted to keep the cultural
icon in my home state. The Big Nail now enjoys notoriety at sporting
and charity events and boasts its own email address and social
calendar. I also established two awards, given annually to recognize
individual acts of selflessness and courage. The first, the Tough as
Nails Award, is presented to individuals demonstrating perseverance in
the face of obstacles. To honor his heroic battle with cancer, I
presented the first award to my father. The Nailed It Award recognizes
those who follow their dreams, reach the stars and go above and beyond.
The first recipient was a fourth-grader who organized his own holiday
fundraiser to benefit low income families at Christmas. Recently, I
celebrated the heroic actions of a Washington teen who reported
alarming messages posted on a school chat room, averting a possible
Columbine-style tragedy. I hosted the teen and her father during an
interview with NBCs Today show at my office in Warren, Michigan, and
made them guests-of-honor at the one-year anniversary party of the Big
Nail.
Author, Teacher, Lecturer and Motivator A nationally recognized real
estate, mortgage fraud and sales expert, I have appeared on CNBC and
hundreds of radio and television stations nationwide, and in such
newspapers as the Los Angeles Times, USA Today, the Detroit Free Press
and Realty Times. Called the Doctor of Motivation by Realtor Magazine,
hundreds of sales professionals have learned the art of networking and
promotion in 999 Bad Ideas and One Nail, gained greater enthusiasm and
improved sales techniques in Rev Up With Ralph and how to list to the
close in Walk Like a Giant, Sell Like a Madman. A Day in the Life of
Ralph puts sales professionals right into the action as they spend the
day shadowing me to learn my secrets and, as in the case of an agent
from Mt. Vernon, Ohio, triple their current sales. I also teach rookies
to veterans how to build wealth by investing in single-family real
estate for the long and short term in Real Wealth Through Real Estate,
and teach buyers, sellers, investors, government agencies and
corporations how to spot and expose real estate fraud. I'm also
regularly invited to speak to international audiences, including the
World Masters of Business conference where co-panelists included
General Norman Schwarzkopf, Robert Kiyosaki and Denis Waitley. But for
those who havent experienced my energy and expertise first-hand, i have
reached millions through my books 52 Weeks to Sales Success (Harper),
Real Wealth by Investing in Real Estate (Prentice Hall), Sell It
Yourself (Adams Media Corp.) and Walk Like a Giant, Sell Like a
Madman(Harper). I have also written a regular column for REALTOR
Magazine.
I have been happily married to my wife Kathleen since 1985 and has
three children. I have many outside interests, but I particularly enjoy
boating, seadooing, snowmobiling, hiking and herb gardening. I also
take great pride in my backyard gold fishpond and love playing
Monopoly, although I have considerable difficulty finding opponents.

Who I'd like to meet: ..
The Living:
1) First...I would like to meet YOU! Especially if you are a potential
home seller or buyer....since I'm a Realtor.
2) The President of the United States...I would love to meet any and/or
all Presidents no matter what party they are with! These are people who
have made it to the top of their chosen field and have had impact on
the history of this country. I did have the chance to shake hands with
George H.W. Bush when he was V.P. to President Ronald Reagan. More
recently I was able to shake hands with First Lady Laura Bush.
3) George Lucas! How could I not have him on my list! The Father of
Star Wars. Thanks George!
4) Ewan McGregor. Obi-Wan Kenobi...how could I pass up a chance to meet
him. I'm sure he's sick of 30+ year old Star Wars Geeks approaching
him, but if he was willing, I would love to meet him.
5) Ahnold...that's Arnold Schwarzenegger for thos who don't know. He is
definately one of my top heroes! He has truely lived the American
Dream. Whatever he puts his mind to...he finds success.
6) Dave Bautista aka Batista in the WWE! This guy rocks! He is as big
as a tank and he seems like a truely nice guy behind the scenes.
7) Lou Ferrigno, the HULK! He was able to overcome a childhood
impairment to become one of the all-time best bodybuilders! Another
person who has overcome obstacles to make it to the top.
8) Jesse "The Body" Ventura. I loved Jesse when I was a kid. I grew up
watching him do commentating with Vince McMahon on the WWF. I thought
he was the best. However, when Jesse became a governor, my respect for
him grew. He spoke his mind and told it like it was. I think many
politicians could learn and see what some honesty could do for those
whom they serve!
9)RALPH ROBERTS FROM COMCAST
Now for those who are no longer on this Earth.
1) My first choice above all would be Jesus. Even if you are not a
believer, would you pass up a chance to meet him? Not I.
2) George Washington. I think he would be an amazing person. I would
love to see first hand how he managed all the turmoil around him and
see him rise to the head of our country.
3) Ronald Reagan. In my opinion the best president we had since Lincoln.
4) Moses...how could anyone not want to meet the man who parted the Red
Sea!
5) Christopher Reeves...The True Man of Steel. He showed us how a true
hero acts.
Our lives are not determined by what happens to us but by how we react to what happens, not by what life brings to us, but by the attitude we bring to life. A positive attitude causes a chain reaction of positive thoughts, events, and outcomes. It is a catalyst, a spark that creates extraordinary results. -Anonymous

One of my friends sent this to me and I really lliked it so she said I could share it. I hope that you got something out of this as well.
"Life is too short to wake up in the morning with regrets. So love the people that treat you right. Forget about the ones who don't and believe that everything happens for a reason. If you get a chance, take it. If it changes your life, let it. Nobody said that it would be easy, they just promised that it would be worth it."
thas so meaningful to me. Love to hear any feedback you have about this.
Hey my friend I wanted to share this with you. It's something that I thought up and I wanted to share it with you. "You can buy all the books, tapes and courses you want but if you don't use the material and get it on the road, then you're really just a fool that has less money at the end of the day than you had at the beginning of the day." I hope that you learn from this because i know for me it's pretty impactful. Talk soon Steve http://www.HowYouMakeMoneyFromHome.com
