| General | Flying, sailing, collector cars, SCUBA, swimming, kayaking, biking, travel, skiing, snowmobiling, offroading, writing, music, photography, hiking, birdwatching, watching and photographing animals of all kinds, firearms and target and skeet shooting, NOT hunting, horses, protecting the environment, alternative energy, physics, astronomy, space travel, futurism, science fiction, politics and government. Unlike a lot of people, I like to USE my brain. BTW, astrology is a bunch of bullshit, I haven't found a way to disable my "sign" yet.
| | Music | I'll listen to almost anything, but my preferences are typically far from mainstream. When I'm cruising around, I usually listen to Area 33 on Sirius Satellite Radio. I check out a lot of local music in Kingston, New Paltz, and Woodstock. There is a lot of great resident talent. | | Movies | If there isn't a space battle at the end, wake me up when your girlie movie is over. | | Television | Most TV will damage your brain. Go out and DO something instead. Speaking of brain damage, I do like Aqua Teen Hunger Force and a lot of the Adult Swim shows. I grew up with Star Trek in all its incarnations. Loved Babylon 5, which set new standards of excellence for SF on television, The Prisoner, for its unique vision. I watch HD movies and special interest stuff like NASA TV, documentaries, car and how-to shows. Everything goes onto my DVR. I never watch commercials. | | Books | I have far too many favorites to list. Here are a few. Childhood's End, Lord of Light, The Postman, Fahrenheit 451, Ringworld, Dune, Stranger in a Strange Land. | | Heroes | Elbert Leander "Burt" Rutan, Jacques-Yves Cousteau, Wernher Magnus Maximilian Freiherr von Braun, Robert Hutchings Goddard, Robert Anson Heinlein, Douglas Trumbull, Patrick Joseph McGoohan and a few more people you probably never heard of. |
