About Ramana Vieira and Her Ensemble

Ramana Vieira, the new voice of Portugese World Music, is a passionate performer who delivers intense, emotional performances of authentic fado music. Having grown up in the Bay Area, Ramana discovered her Portugese heritage in her late 20s and has not stopped learning about her culture since. She is not only a classically trained pianist and vocal performer, she has proven her mettle by performing in authentic fado houses in Portugal. She is honored to also have been part of the 2006 Winter Olympics in Turin, Italy and has had audience with the United Nations during their 60th anniversary celebration. Unstoppable, Ramana continues to hone her craft through intensive research and immersion in Portugese culture. She currently enjoys a loyal fanbase in the US and Portugal.
