Po Records is short for Ramapo Records. One of the only colleges in New Jersey engaged in a project like this. Ramapo college is ranked 1 among Regional Public Comprehensive colleges in the North by U.S. News and World Report, 2007 edition of Americas Best College. Established in 1969 as a state-supported , co-ed, 4 year college of Liberal Arts, sciences and re-accredited in '81,'90 and 2000.
What is Po Records?
It is an independent record label operated by college students. The goal is to distribute and promote high quality, commercially viable CD releases produced, marketed and distributed by the student body. As part of its commitment to provide practical experience to the students and supplement their classroom knowledge, it prides itself on running its operation with minimal funding and encourages a grassroots approach to promoting and marketing a recording project.

Po Records started with the Advanced Business of Music class in the spring of 2003.

Why Po Records?
You mean besides the fact that we're amazing? Po Records gives students a basic understanding of the process of this $40 billion dollar, international industry, called the music business, goes through. These college students get hands on exposure to A&R, promotion & marketing, manufacturing, and distribution. Po Records also gives exposure to aspiring musicians, songwriters, faculty, producers and local bands.
Looking for bands within the following parameters:
1) Genres including Acoustic/Indie/Pop/Punk/Rock/Alternative/R&B
2) Unsigned bands, solo musicians or singer/songwriters
3) With one or more of the following characteristics
a.Large fan base
b.Touring on a regular basis
4) Located within the New Jersey/New York/Connecticut/ Pennsylvania region
