Richmond Art Museum (RAM) in Richmond, Indiana strives hard to support all aspects of the arts. In 2006, they developed the fade IN film series, which supports independent films by having a monthly screening in the museum theatre.
FADE IN stands for Focusing on Art, Diversity and Education in Indiana. Therefore, our mission is to showcase films that are well made, but never got the mainstream attention they deserved. They range from classics that are decades old to recent releases. If you're an indie film fan and are aggravated that some films never come to East Central Indiana, here is your chance to experience some art on the big screen!
Admission is $3.00 for Students/RAM Members or $5.00 for General Public. Rated R Movies - 17 and Under must be accompanied by an adult.

PHANTOSCOPE HIGH SCHOOL FILM FESTIVAL
Are you making films in class? In your basement? On the street? With your friends? By yourself? With your dog? Have you ever had to beg your mom or dad to be in one of your films? Bribed your little brother or sister? Yeah, we're talking to you. And after you've shot your little masterpiece, where are you showing it? That's what we thought.
Phantoscope is an opportunity for you to get your film out there, and possibly even win the $500 Grand Prize. The top films will be screened in our theatre before a few hundred people...pretty cool, huh? We'll have screenings, panel discussions with industry contacts and more! .
2009 submissions have passed, but we hope you will enter in January for 2010.

In case you're wondering...
A PHANTOPSCOPE was an early type of motion picture projector, invented by Richmond native C. Frances Jenkins. The first motion picture screening EVER used a phantoscope, and was held in Richmond, Indiana, in 1894. And you thought nothing interesting ever happened around here!

I sent in a video of a Michael Moore Mockumentary for the Phantoscope film festival. I just hope that the camera I used to convert it back to MiniDV didn't fuck it up.
