About me:
XXIII:
The finest plans are those left unplanned.
Originality is everywhere.
Analogue > Digital.
My time is spent chasing the finalities of a university career that may just lead to another.
Writing, recording, listening, exploring, searching for and manipulating music of all varieties, although paying particular attention to the art of heavy.
I always have time for:
Spontaneous events and brilliant ideas.
The Scottish film and television industry.
Mysterious places and subsequent adventures.
Vast conversations about everything and anything odd, banned, innovative, mad, supernatural, paranormal, weird, explosive, peaceful, fantastic or psychedelic.
Who I'd like to meet: All the creatures, na'erdowells, mollycoddlers, scoundrels, rogues, city badgers, foxes, troubadours and nomads.
Entered any competitions yet? I got a phone call telling me I had won awesome jewellery. With a WEDDING MAGAZINE! (The comps on that site are so random, I just enter them all)
Thankfully it's not too wedding-y so I won't have to have a wedding to wear it. x
That was my first wedding and it was only a small one, family only PLUS me. I felt special. :) I've so far dodged all funeral-going. Probably for the best, it's one of those "don't laugh" situations where you are bound to laugh just because it's forbidden.
Vitus? Wolves in the Throne Room? So jealous! WITTR only ever seem to play London here. And I love Baroness, and John Dyer Baizley's art work.
Definitely up for Tchai Ovna, can do Friday, I'm going into Glasgow for a burlesque-y type event in the evening so I could make a day of it and eat before I get there. :) Failing that I'm free Sunday until 5pm. x
I'm currently staying in Newcastle Under Lyme and my friends just got married yesterday. Everyone is so nice down here, I may have to move to England at some point. Maybe not here though, I haven't been to Brighton yet but the zines and DIY scene and art facilities attract me. How was Roadburn? x
ah, damn - well our journey was way less eventful. But it felt like it's gonna take ages to get back.
Yes! Just saw Action Beat yesterday - fortunately the man dragged me out of the house, because I was literally too depressed and Roadburn-hung-over to do anything ;) amazing show. And we got Farflung & White Hills here on Friday, so I get a little of that feeling back bit for bit :))
I wish I could go to Roadburn. And Supersonic! I've not been to a festival since 2003, I never have enough money. Or any money for that matter.
Earth were good, but some sleazy drunk guy assaulted me outside while I was having a smoke afterwards. Luckily he wasn't allowed back in by the door staff. x
I didn't get the tour guide job, apparently loads of multilingual people applied, the closing date isn't even until the 30th. :( Nowhere wants to hire me, especially not in this country where you only have to speak one language. I may have to do fruit picking or something. My sick pay runs out in about two weeks! *cries*
Tonight I am planning on applying for some summer jobs in Norway, the first one being as a tour guide in the wilds of Voss. I need to raise my tuition fees for this art course and I can't get a job at all here! :( I'd love to be a tour guide, I think my Norwegian would get much better and I could probably stay in my auntie's house in the mountains.
