Music
I have eclectic music taste. I generally do not like rap or country, or R and B but I like rock such as Tom Petty, and dance/electronica such as DDR music, or things by DJ Sammy, Postal Service, I love international music such as that by Maaya Sakomoto, SES or PuffyAmiYumi in the Asian Sector, things by Gaelic Storm Loreena McKennitt, Elven, Brobdignagian Bards (mostly parody songs for them though), The Prodigals, and Seven Nations, Black 47, Flogging Molly, etc etc.
I also like random various styles of music like Gwen Stefani, Black Eyed Peas, Seal, U2, Sting,Sheryl Crow, etc. If I can sing along with it, all the better! If I can dance and sing along with it, I'm in heaven!
Movies
Some of my favorite movies involved intellectualism and things that really made you think such as The Core, Minority Report, Outbreak and others. More favorite movies include Labyrinth, The Dark Crystal, The Rats of NIMH, The Land Before Time (before they did the crappy musical sequels), Tuck Everlasting, The Last Unicorn, The Neverending Story, The Princess Bride, Ever After, Lord of the Rings, Back to the Future,Harry Potter, Dragonheart, and more that I’m not remembering atm.
Television
As far as TV shows, some of my favorites were Quantum Leap (sexy Dr Sam Beckett, woo), X Files, Forever Knight, Gargoyles, Darkwing Duck, Mr Wizard, Beakman's World (does anybody remember this show? I watched it religiously), Dinosaurs, South Park, Dexter's Lab, PPG, TMNT, As Told by Ginger, The Disney Afternoon 'toons, The Family Guy,Voltron, Fruits Basket, Kodocha, Escaflowne, Kare Kano, Full Metal Panic, etc etc etc.
Books
Harry Potter, Madeline L'Engle, Roald Dahl, C.S. Lewis, Ann McCaffrey, various mangas including Chobits, Angelic Layer and Full Metal Panic! I also love to read magazines such as Nature, Smithsonian, and National Geographic

About me: This is me in a nutshell: PhD student in the sciences, cosplayer, rollerblader, singer,dancer, animal lover, President of the Delaware Anime Society, and CEO of Zentrancon, LLC.

- I love RPGs (video games and live action) such as Grandia, Final Fantasy, DnD,and online MUSHes and MOO's such as Harper's Tale (Dragonriders of Pern theme) and Hogwarts Moo (Harry Potter rocks!)
-I am very pro environment. I recycle and try to save energy whenever possible. I believe in Animal rights but I also believe in the food chain (aka I respect vegetarians but I am not one). I am annoyed that my current school seems to have no environmental club because the campus has way too much trash and pollution on it but I'm working on fixing that.
-I love dorky sciency things, like puttering about outside or in my lab.
-I like webcomics and comics in general: Favorite webcomics include Megatokyo, Something Positive, Queen of Wands, Doemain of our Own, Misty the Mouse, MacHall, Life of Riley, Jack, GPF, FBOFW, and more than I'd care to list right now :D
-I am a MAJOR dragon/Renaissance Faire/Celtic Music and Culture nut! I collect stuffed animals, figurines, and jewelry of dragons.
- I also dress up for Ren Faires, which I have fun attending!
-I love to sing and dance. I guess you could say I'm 'classically trained' in singing. I know several types of dances (from my ballroom dance class), but I really want to learn more.
-I like animation (Japanese, American, and whatever else).
-I enjoy cosplaying (aka making my own theatrical type character costumes and wearing them for either fun or competition). I occasionally will take commissions for costume parts or stuffed animals.

More Ramblings about my current anime club:
I feel very lucky to have such a large and wonderful group of friends in my DAS club right now, and that the club is doing well. We're happy to say we hosted the first ever Delaware Anime minicon on October 23, 2004. We're hosting our second convention experience in the form of Zentrancon Philadelphia, on October 16, 2005. After we merged our convention with Kosaikon this year, we will be hosting Zenkaikon 2006 in October 2006. Recently my club has attracted attention from another club in PA who requested to be our third chapter, the DAS Kanameijis.
Academic stuff: I recently received my M.S degree working on the growth and photobiology of harmful algal blooms (HABs) and am now in the PhD program, working with macroalgae biochemistry (seaweeds). I hope to use my contacts in the phD program to get a job with NASA or the EPA doing environmentally beneficial research. I feel that everyone should give something positive back to the earth and to each other.
