RAMPART began to function as a band around 2006. Many worthy musicians gave their contribution in building this fortress of Heavy Metal in Bulgaria. Some of the defenders of the bastion fell in the battle! Some gave up in front of the obstacles, others run from the battlefield... Now on guard are: Maria D.S. (Vocals), Vili Neshev (Guitars), Svilen Ivanov (Bass) and Petar Svetlinov (Drums)! Stone by stone the bastion was built in 2008 with the release of the demo EP “Warriors". It got some highly encouraging feedback from the European metal underground press. In 2009 the band was ready to record new material. The French label Inferno Records signed RAMPART and released the debut album "Voice of the Wilderness". In 2011 RAMPART recorded their new EP “A Tale to Cold”. The band promoted this mini-release with gigs in the UK. Even the riots in London could not stop the band to play! RAMPART is inspired by old-school Heavy Metal bands but their music has recently been taking a more Progressive slant and has more Thrash inspirations. RAMPART will play at Taunus Metal Open Air 2012, at Oberursel, Germany. RAMPART is recording a new studio album to be released in the early 2012. It is a concept album that will bang your head!!! Its working title is “War Behest”!
