After the torrential break up of the highly influential indie/highschool rock outfit, “Steak,” Ramzi Helewa set out as an independent solo artist forming “The Ramzi Helewa Sound Experiment.” Armed with his four-track, his low-fi production skills, and a few songs, he released such hit albums as “A Rat’s Request” and “Coinringer – Bringer of the News.” The Summer of 2004 witnessed the recording of “Mustard Plaster.” This highly anticipated, semi-conceptual album was years in the making. Ramzi finally committed to disc a going and coming musical journey of life in Winnipeg. This was recorded in a newly refurbished recording studio. Despite limited free time, the Sound Experiment did manage to release the EP, “Numies on a Window” in early 2005. This was followed by the release of “Love in a Beautiful Way” in November of 2005. This album was recorded and produced with the help of Cameron Crawford and it featured several local Winnipeg musicians. After 1 year of recording and re-recording at Skybase Studios, the RHSE's newest record "Disjointed Songs.." was released in January 2007. It features 17 tracks spanning from spark acoustic numbers to electronica-tinged soundscapes. It is available from me and will soon be in local record stores.

Sup Ramzi. So when is your new album going to be out? Will it be ripe with references to experiences on our obs & gyne rotation or are you going to keep it at a PG rating? See you around.
I hope you enjoyed East Hastings. Next time we should go hang out at Pigeon Park on Friday night. It was good seeing you again. Visit soon, or maybe I'll come to Winnipeg. Is the BDI ice cream still there? O and Chicken Delight.

haha.. that ukulele is a cheap one. I was just going to buy it as a gag for a friend's Hawaiian party so I just bought the cheapest one. It was $25. I just learned one song on it (a Jack Johnson song.. not sure if you like him). But it's pretty neat. Really easy to pick up after playing guitar so long so I just learned a few chords and stuff... nothing major. It gets out of tune every... 30 seconds or so....haha.
Hey, man, I wanted to add one of your songs on my myspace, but it wouldn't let me. Did you disable it? Do I need permission to add a song? Mayan Equivalent... lay it on me
Congrats Ramzi you've gotten a comment from PWR. Awesome stuff. I LUVS IT. Thanks for supporting the project and I hope you BUCCACHINOS exp was as good as ours.
