We have a unique style described as melodic rock, but sometimes people tell us they hear bit of Megadeth, Scorpions, Edguy, Helloween, Rammstein, Dream Theater, Masterplan...
The band Randal was born in February 2002 in Boulder, Colorado.
Randal, the name and the members, all come from the same heritage. With members originally from the Czech Republic, we feel that we have a unique bond that has stemmed from our childhood home in Europe. Randal in the Czech language means a special kind of noise, or "Racket" if you will and we named our band like that because we like to listen music loudly and because our parents always told us "turn off that racket!". We will never turn it off...
To label us, we are an original band; therefore we compose and play our own music. However, if needed, we can play covers as well. To describe our style, if you are a chef and are preparing a stew, the meat would be Megadeth, the vegetables would be Scorpions, and the spices would include Edguy and Helloween. To make the stew a bit spicier, you would use Rammstein as hot peppers.
Randal was fortunate since day one. The right chemistry between members produced very catchy and melodic songs influenced by European style. Audiences especially here in the US seem to like our unique, diversified style very much. Critics say: "definitely unique, great drive, cool grooves, and sing-along melodies." Randals professional attitude created great relationships with fellow musicians and most importantly with venue owners. This chemistry allowed us to play not only the biggest venues in town (Gothic, Bluebird, and many more), but also in cities such as New York (Knitting Factory and Bohemian Hall), Chicago (Rockfest 2003) and Atlanta (BigBeatFest 2004).
