Random Eye - Alternative Electro-Rock from Las Vegas
Denny Harman started writing music at age 12, playing melodies on a keyboard, rhythms on a guitar, dreaming about becoming as popular as his favorite acts: Depeche Mode, The Smiths or U2. At the end of 2006, Denny took his first step towards making his dream come true by recording an LP with Grammy-nominated producer Tommy Marolda. The next step was a harder one: finding the right band to bring his music to the stage.
When heavy metal drummer Donny Dececco moved from Youngstown, Ohio to Las Vegas, he brought with him his drum set and his passion to be on stage. Hanging out in a restaurant, Donny heard the guy from the next table talking about his day in a studio and his recording sessions. Since meeting new people is one of this drummer's specialties, he struck up a conversation and so met Denny Harman. A few days later, the two musicians listened to the LP in process together and Donny instantly agreed to bring up the artillery in the studio with his electronic and acoustic drumming.
After trying a few different bass players, a friend introduced Derek MacElwain to the two D's. Derek had already been rocking in the Vegas scene for a few years in a cover band. It took the trio one practice to realize that this solid bass player completely matched the band's style. Derek's five bass strings vibrate on stage in a heavy rock style, influenced by the likes of Muse and Tool.
In 2008, the trio finaly became the current incarnation of Random Eye with their last addition: a lead guitar player. Coming from France where he worked for the main radio stations as a host/DJ, Fred Charles first met Donny by playing together in the Tracey Hope Band. Joining the three D's for a practice, Fred's European influences gave Random Eye's songs a new “punch”. This entertainer also used his knowlege of leading shows to bring R-E to the next level.
Since mid-2008, Random Eye has been playing a powerful set on more than 15 Vegas stages and was one of the final eight out of 100 bands at the 2008 Amplify Festival. The band is moving forward in a positive direction and gain new fans with every show. The four guys are now ready to hit the road and meet new crowds.
