Zakk Wylde, Marty Friedman, John Petrucci, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Paul Gilbert mixed together...?
I recieved my first guitar before I even knew what music was, at the age of 4. Being from Sear's, it broke.
When I turned 8 I had troubles sleeping so I started listening to music to fall asleep. I used to borrow my mothers cassetes and listen to Mozart, Beethoven, and mixed Blues/Jazz horn instrument recordings. I eventually starting buying my own cassettes. I remember getting Kenny Marks, Petra, & Whitecross tapes.
I received my next guitar from Sear's when I was 9. I smashed it. I got my 3rd guitar when I was 14 - it was a cheap nova acoustic.
I took some theory lessons with a man from Lewisport - Newfoundland. I forget his name but he tought me how to strum, chord groups, and chords. He also played a lot of lead.
One lesson I remember we went to a church? he played an electric through a Peavey Stagemaster? I'll never forget it when he turned on the distortion. That was the first time I really heard a distorted guitar - I didn't really understand it at the time..but I loved it!
I quickly traded my acoustic for a Samick 6string Electric. I played through my sister's bass Dean Markley amp.
One day during school, a friend of mine *Shane Anstey* brought his guitar. He also brought a distortion pedal. Anyway, I begged him to let me borrow it. I got it home..and it changed my life.
I was born into a Christian home. Both of my parents are ministers in Pentecostal Assembley's. So I wasn't allowed to listen to secular music. I did however get to experience some great guitarists. Whitecross and Petra quickly became my favorite bands - until I could download music and learned of Metallica, Incubus, and Rage Against Machine.
My cusin stayed over for a few weeks. He happened to leave in a few CD's. I used to take my sister's cd player - she was the only one with a cd player in the house - and listen to RAGE, Kid Rock, & Korn. I fell in love with Know Your Enemy, & Got the Life. It was just so raw, powerful, and the solo in the RATM songs just killed.
It wasn't long before I found out about forum's on the internet - after quiting gaming to play more guitar. I discovered Joe Satriani, Yngwie Malmsteen, and Steve Vai.
Being exposed to all kinds of genre's, it isn't by mistake that I love diversity, and try to incorperate in into my own playing. So the rest is history really.

Hey AJ, this past weekend you came up in a conversation me and Christa were having, and you know what I remembered, that time in the mall when you asked me to marry you, and not have kids, but we could try anyway! haha That was funny!!
I miss random run-ins with you in the mall:(
sorry for this unpersonal comment, because of the huge traffic on our site is it not possible to check out all the new friends. We'll try to change this as soon as possible ;-)
there will be more music at our site as soon the mix (Roastinghouse Malmö Sweden) will be done!
