Songs for passion, songs for fun, songs for you, songs for me, songs for songs.
Brooklyn Based singer songwriter Randy Bergida shares his stories and wit focusing on acoustic arrangements with orchestral whimsy and lush vocals. Bergida found his voice as a singer songwriter in 1999 while living out in a log cabin in the Colestien valley of Mt. Ashland. Rent was cheap and hitchhiking into town and playing his original songs in cafe's paid the rent. But being so far from society, Bergida faced a life much different than that of his past. Many of his days were spent walking the landscapes, thinking, playing, and writing songs. He found a lot of inspiration as he was hit with a whirlwind of emotions with the solitude that he experienced out on his own. It's no wonder the songs of Randy Bergida can touch such highs and hit such rock bottom lows. He later would take the songs from the valley of Mt. Ashland, to Tucson, AZ, then to Portland, OR and to his present home in New York City. With songs like "Don't Walk Away", "Firebug", and "All the Unexpected", you'll find a delicate balance of heart torn reality mixed with a soothing and dreamy calm of the surreal. Keep an eye out for his premier record released under his name, Randy Bergida, due out in late 2009.
Randy Bergida also appears as lead vocalist and rhythm guitarist for Skidmore Fountain. He has been a member since day one and has released four records including the April 29th, 2009 release of 'Cloudless Blue' (Young Love Records). As well, their songs have appeared on MTV, charted on FMQB, as well as winners of the 2008 AirPlay Direct Songwriter's competition. Randy Bergida is a voice evaluator for Young Audiences New York and is the founder of Songwriter Factory.
Here's a little animation video made for Skidmore Fountain's "when the sun shines"
I am so sorry!! I didn't know I had to approve my comments and I am just now seeing your comment!!!! It's been a while, I'm playing a show tomorrow night at Broadway Studios in SF...how are things going for you? Hope all is well! ~Erica
Hey Randy, I would love to play again soon. I normally do my booking on Thursdays or Fridays (this week Friday) so I will make some calls tomorrow and see what I can find for us. My sound-alike song for your "Firebug" is called "St. Anthony's Return." We'll have to do a proper joust next time! Colin
It's the new Skidmore Fountain single, "Asylum." Let me know what you think!
We're playing Friday 10/17 at Pianos, 11pm. I'm playing with the two bands beforehand, Quitzow and Setting Sun, as well (and heading to Europe with them in November). Maybe you'll be around for the show? Dylan
ol have you seen these pics yet? im suprised her myspace didnt get deleted yet for posting pictures like that. i've gotten spammed i fight it, and what comes out is one proposterous junk msg that can't be dealt with. "hello where are you.'' the echo reflects at church "hellwheyoo"
Hey, they're not the only ones who miss you. I miss you, too! You should come to our doowop performance on the afternoon of the 23rd. Just sneak in. Pretend you're a teacher. Ha!
