I am a full-time private educator and performing musician in the Atlanta area. While I make no claims of greatness as a performing musician, I do strive for excellence and play well. You can listen to my audio clips, which by the way, are primarily excerpts from my educational series of jazz method books, and make your own judgments.
I do consider myself, however, to be a very good educator, especially for students in the first 5-6 years of learning to play. Since I've devoted many years of my life to private teaching (50-70 students weekly since 1985), I thought I could begin making my contribution to jazz education at large by writing a series of jazz etude books. Thus, in 2001, came the inception of "Complete Jazz Styles, Introductory Etudes in Jazz Conception."
After a reasonable amount of success with this first book, including endorsements from folks like Randy Brecker, Joe Lovano, Bobby Shew, Mark Colby, John Fedchock, and many more, I had to continue writing. Next came "Complete Jazz Styles" Duet and Etude 2 Books. My most recent publication, "Set the Stage; Jazz Combo/Small Group Arrangements and Instruction" is also off to a decent start. You can check out a review just published in the 2007-08 Jazz Education Guide included with the October issues of Jazz Times Magazine.
If you have a chance and would like to check out some free MP3 and PDF downloads from any or all of my books, please visit my main web site at: www.randyhunterjazz.com.
A jazz teacher locater page is available through a link from the randyhunterjazz.com home page. This is a free service, so please feel free to register if you are a teacher or browse if you are a student...no obligation. A "Free Stuff" page is also located at my site with etudes, duets, improv lessons, transcriptions, manuscript paper, and more.
Please note that I am available as a freelance musician in the Atlanta area. If you are looking for a band for a private event or club engagement, drop me a note. I work with several different bands and can likely provide just what you want.

Hi Randy, I know this is probably old news, but congratulations man. Way to go!
Hello “friends”, I have had jazz musicians emailing me their suggestion on how I should go about with other musicians “Share File” songs instead of using the agreement that was written out on Boodeaux’s blog. You’ll now see there is no longer any binding agreement, just the love of your trust with Boodeaux is all that is needed. If you agree, Boodeaux will even buy one of your song tracks from your MySpace. com profile page with your permission only after you have sent an IM (Instant Message saying so). Otherwise it’s all up to you however you wish to share your song track file. And you may cancel out anytime as you wish. Here you’ll see a shortcut to Boodeaux’s blog:
If you ever feel like sharing one of your jazz sound for a cause and have a link to your Myspace, you're more then welcome. http://www. myspace. com/boodeaux

Hi Randy, Nice music, fun playing : I like the way you consider playing and living through music, with a kind of natural simplicity. And your sound reminds of the great Dexter ... unforgettable ! Gteetings from the over side of the ocean !
