Hailing from Greenfield, IN., Randy grew up with music as a way of life. He began singing gospel music with his parents at the age of ten, (his father sang the lead, his mother the alto part, while Randy sand tenor.). In high school, he was always a featured vocalist during chorus programs and also sang with several traveling quartets. By the time he was out of high school Randy had made the decision to pursue music as a full time career and began fronting various local bands. While in his early twenties, Randy was asked to join the then new Southern Rock band, Catawompus. During his three year tenure as frontman and lyricist for Catawompus, he had the opportunity to work with a number of artists whose music he had grown up listening to, such as The Marshall Tucker Band, Molly Hatchet and Edgar Winter, as well as then up-and-coming country acts like Faith Hill. After leaving Catawompus Randy began to focus more on improving his skills as a guitarist and to learn as much as he could about the craft of songwriting. To that end, Randy moved to Nashville in 2004 and put in motion a process that continues to this day. It was also in 2004 that Randy was given the opportunity to record a solo album, titled ...With My Eyes Closed, for an indie label in Indianapolis, The Hit Department. The album was produced by Randy's long-time friend, Scott Rainey, who also added his skills as a lead guitarist to the project. Shortly before moving to Nashville, Randy met a very talented singer/songwriter from Lebanon, TN., Megan McCulloch who was, at the time, in the market for a guitar player. Since that meeting, Randy has played guitar for Megan in venues all around Nashville, as well as putting together an impressive song catalog. Randy, along with Megan, has also worked with other Nashville writers like Monty Holmes and Bill LaBounty. Randy still plays guitar for and writes with Megan McCulloch and both are pursuing publishing deals in Nashville.
