Bio
Valentine’s Day is a special day to express your feelings to those you love. This CD is a project of love; of a husband to his wife, for our family, our friends, and a love of music. Randy and I have been very blessed in our lives together, and would like to not only share his music, but also play it forward to someone else. Imagine not having a voice to sing or communicate. Imagine not having the fine motor skills to play an instrument, or make music. With that in mind, we are donating 100% of the sales of Randy’s CD, Valentine’s Day, to the EagleEyes project through The Opportunity Foundation of America 501(c)(3), a non-profit organization, in collaboration with Boston College. EagleEyes is a technology that gives a voice to children who are severely physically impaired, and do not have the ability to communicate in the typical way most of us take for granted. Randy and I have both participated in this project and have seen the miracles that happen. Please help us make a difference in the lives of these children, to give them a voice, and the opportunity to make their own music through technology! I began playing sax at age eleven. My father was hell bent on me playing the saxophone, since that was one of his dreams. After attending Ohio State University in Computer Information Science, I worked in the field for two years, and decided to tour with the Woody Herman Orchestra after a phone call from my friend, jazz trombonist, John Fedchock. I also toured with the Guy Lombardo Orchestra, Kim Pensyl, and Aretha Franklin. The road was becoming tiresome, so I decided to settle back in Columbus, and am currently working for Nationwide Insurance as a Unix/Linux systems engineer. I continue to play music in Columbus, and can frequently be heard at Dick's Den and other jazz venues in town. My "Valentine's Day" CD is born out of the love for my wife, Susan. It is a compilation of songs I've recorded for her over the years, each one a special gift for Valentine's Day. We decided this would also be an excellent way to put the word out about the Opportunity Foundation of America's EagleEyes project, something we've both been involved with, and a way to give back, and "play" it forward! Thanks, Randy -

I've known and admired Randy's sax playing since the late '70s when he was a member of the Ohio State University Jazz Ensemble. His new CD, Valentine's Day, is absolutely great! Randy's sound is huge, soulful, and so musical. His interpretations of these well-known ballads are creative and perfectly performed. It's truly a pleasure to listen to him make such great music.
