Blending a broad range of influences from the whole history of rock, country, folk and alternative, new and fresh breakout artist, Rane Stone, is quickly gaining the reputation as the new voice for “Roots Rock”.
Not afraid to speak out about the issues confronting all of us in our daily lives, Stone delivers in a way that is not only communicative, but also very self-healing. Stone pours self-aware and awakening lyrics into each composition expressing ordinary music in an extraordinary way. His music challenges and empowers those who absorb its message and lets us know that we are not alone in this enigma known as life.
This is the very essence of being a human in some very inhumane situations, self-inflicted or otherwise. The ironic struggle of our iconic and gritty nature, comparing and combining the gory with the spirited, and Stone does this masterfully. With Stone’s music there is no tricking you with the unnecessary and frivolous glitter that most bands use to get your attention. Smoke and mirrors…there are none.
Stone lays his guts out on the table while making you want to anticipate the view and commits to the songs unapologetically. There is no hesitation or insecurity whatsoever. The words and music are deliberate, confident and secure.
Talked to Mark at Pickled Onion (Renton) tonight, he said they are booking out into January, me and two others with me said they need to look you up and book you up ;-)
No upcoming shows?!! Dangit! I saw you open for Hell's Belles and I RALLY loved it! I liked your show better than theirs. Don't get me wrong, the Belles are amazing, but I really enjoyed the originality of your music. I was hoping to go see another one of your shows soon, I was working during that one :-(
