About me: I wear kilts -- the new pants. I like Classic Rock (it used to be called "Progressive Rock") -- Pink Floyd, Yes, King Crimson, Gentle Giant, Genesis, Premiata Forneria Marconi, Van Der Graaf Generator, etc.
I also like classical music, jazz, jazz fusion, world beat, modern rock, some hard rock and some rap. If I'm in the right mood, I can even enjoy folk and country music. I also like electronic music and produce my own.
I'm a Ranger with the Burning Man Project. I teach First Aid and CPR. I'm a Hazardous Materials Technician and an EMT.
That's a lot of serious stuff. That's why I need a lot of sillyness in my life. You'll find some of that here.
Performing
It's something I don't think about often, but I've performed on stage, television, and film: Stage:
I was a playing card in a 1st or 2nd grade school production.
In sixth grade I was the "Little Drummer Boy" in our Christmas pagent (chosen because I could actually play a drum)
In the mid 1970s, I performed with the "Universal Poets" reading some of our original works at an open mike at University of Pittsburgh Auditorium.
After moving to San Francisco in 1973, I read poetry almost every Thursday night for year, at the Coffee Gallery on Grant Avenue. Television:
In the early 1970s I was often an extra on Mr. Roger's Neighborhood at WQED TV, Pittsburgh, where I also was a volunteer Production Assistant.
I also made a few guest appearances on "Black Horizons" and "Rappin'" on WQED TV -- my father produced and hosted both shows in the early 1970s.
I sang and played guitar in the WQED TV production, "Christmas With The Baers" (also featuring Opera Singer, Leontyne Price). Film:
Music for Ben Ramsey's first film, "Off White" and his Tai Chi workout video, "The Eight Treasures" with Glenn Hairston.
In 1990, I played a drug dealer in the music video, "Love is the Answer" by Gregory Bledsoe and the Source of Light Band (I was a guitarist with the band).
In 2004, I had a speaking part as a sleazy strip club owner in the feature-length film, "Subtext".

A couple of years ago I got pretty banged up in a rollover accident. This fine lady fixed me right up.
