If you know Ranjit Arapurakal, then you already know that he’s one of the finest musicians on the NYC scene. To call him versatile is an understatement. This Indian-born, American-bred multilingual singer/songwriter has been classically trained since childhood, plays more instruments than he has fingers and infuses elements of bossa-nova, rock, and reggae into a wholly original sound. A decidedly independent recording artist, Ranjit is collaborating with the legendary DJ Rich Medina on his debut full-length album, releasing later this year. In Brooklyn, Ranjit hosts Kili’s International Open Mic, a weekly hotbed of emerging songwriters. While on tour in Mumbai, India, earlier this year, Ranjit headlined at state-of-the-art club Blue Frog, and launched the city’s first open mic at local hotspot Zenzi. If you know Ranjit Arapurakal, then you already know he is the real thing. And if you don’t know, now you know. ..
My Friends, thanks for visting my space. I am back in NYC, putting the finishing touches on my debut album with uberproducer DJ Rich Medina. Enjoy the songs up here now, as they will soon be replaced with hot new joints from Rich's studio. Big shoutout to my people in India - I had too much fun in Bollywood. NYC heads can catch me every Tuesday hosting Kili's International Open Mic at Kili Lounge, 81 Hoyt St (btwn State & Atlantic), Boerum Hill, Brooklyn. The newest addition to my space is my SNOCAP MyStore. Now you can buy any of these tracks for only 99 cents! Anybody who buys all seven gets a FREE DRINK next time I see you. With gratitude,
Ranjit
