RANK N’ FILE are a punk rock-band from Stavanger, on the west coast of Norway. We’re sick of complex, thoughtless and trendy music, where a band’s look matters more than the music and the meaning behind it. We’re sick of the world being just another colony at the feet of American imperialism, where ’war is peace, ignorance is strength and slavery is freedom’. We’re sick of the system sacrificing liberty and prosperity to gain security and wealth for those who can afford it. We care to take a stand against capitalism, exploitation, religions and oppression. Freedom’s just an illusion, the time has come to take it back!
RANK N’ FILE have been around under this name since the end of 2007, but the members have fucked around in other punk rock-bands since the beginning of time. We entered the scene with a 7" entitled ’Subject to Disorder’ in January 2008, at a time when punk rock could use a little more ’Hey ho!’ and a little less MySpace.
RANK N’ FILE don’t try to be anything new, or anything old. We are what we are, this is what we do, and this is the music that we love. Enjoy or die!
