Movies are one of my great passions. You could find me at a movie theater at least once a week. I also often rent or watch them on television (especially the Independent Film Channel or IFC). I like all kinds of movies. The regular Hollywood fare, independent, foreign… I prefer movies that are original in some way be that the plot, cinematography, special effects or anything else that makes them stand out from the rest. I can appreciate a film that isn’t perfect in some way, but is spectacular in one of the categories that make movies so special. If I remember a movie for a while it’s a good, if it makes me think about a myriad of different things even better. I like nothing more then to come out of a movie theater, sit down at a coffee shop or a cute little restaurant nearby and have a long conversation with my friends about what we just saw. Movies move me – my whole mood can change because of a movie. I really feel the emotion of what happens on the screen almost as if it were happening to me. This is especially true for character driven films that are complex in nature.
About 6-7 years ago I got an idea to try and put together a list of movies I've ever seen via IMDB's My Movies section. The list is as complete as possible. It was very difficult to remember which ones I saw growing up. It definately does contain everything I've seen in the past 10 years or so as I've been good about adding them right after seeing them. Following is a list of my favorites in alphabetical order. Most of these are, in my opinion, outstanding in every aspect of movie making, particularly good in just one (for example, "Cell" while far from a great film has amazing cinematography and visuals), or just nothing out of ordinary, but something I have really enjoyed.
Aside from sports (soccer, hockey, boxing, cycling, WRC rally) I don't watch that much TV.
When I do these are the shows I really enjoy: Entourage, Family Guy, American Dad, Futurama, The 70's Show, The Daily Show with Jon Stewart, Over There, Bill Maher, MASH, Friends, Seinfeld, Countdown with Keith Olbermann, Meet the Press.
I also like nature shows, science programs and much of the stuff on the Discovery and History channels.
Since RADIO does not have its own category here I should also mention that I love listening to NPR because it makes me think about important issues and is, in my opinion, the most intelligent, objective source of information in today's media. I also listen to the Howard Stern show for that other kind of intelligence and because it makes me laugh out loud.

Not sure if they qualify as heroes, but here are some of the people I really admire:
Lance Armstrong, for being the most incredible athlete that has ever lived and overcoming insane odds to stay alive, determination and absolute domination of the most grueling sport on Earth.
Eric Jordan, (founder of 2Advanced) for revolutionazing design on the web and for being an all around cool guy that I can very much relate to.
George Carlin, for being the funniest man on the planet, an extremely kean observer of the human nature and society, a master of the English language... best comedian by far... Unlike many others who all do the same schtick Carlin's humor is topical and intelligent, hence requires real talent.
Jon Stewart, for many of the same things I've just said about ol' George above. Jon goofs off on his show which I find to be hillarious, but if you've ever seen him speak for a long time and not on his show you will truly understand just how brilliant and naturally funny he is.
David Beckham, for being a much better footballer and person than people give him credit for. Aside from his sublime football skills (best crosser, long range passer and free kick taker in the world, bar none) he's a prime example of someone who always treats everyone around him with utmost respect, is as cool as it gets, yet takes a ridiculous amount of crap from the overzealous, jealous haters who don't have a life. Yeah, he's good looking, makes a ton of money playing a kid's game and from advertisements, has a great family and knows how to dress. So? How many people would stay as down to Earth as he has managed to do while enjoying the status of one of the top celebrities on the planet? Leave Becks alone and go hate on someone who actually deserves it. Like Paris Hilton.
Ronaldinho, for having the best natural football skills I've ever seen and always playing with a smile on his face. One can only hope that some idiot won't end his career prematurely by breaking his legs (because that's the only way to stop him). This has happened to many great footballers in the past. Here's to many more years of football fans enjoying this man's incredible skills.
Ray Bradbury and Isaac Asimov, for being two of my favorite science fiction writers and visionaries of the future.
Quentin Tarantino, for being the god of movies. As simple as that.
Pixar, for producing the most brilliant creative work ever. I love every one of their 3D cartoons! Aside from amazing animation most live action movies can only dream of scripts and dialogue of such quality.
Chris McFarlane, the creator of Family Guy, for his twisted sense of humor and quick wit. By far the most laugh outloud funny show on TV. American Dad is very good too - give it a chance.
DJ Christopher Lawrence, for making the music that makes me enter a state of absolute euphoria and for being an all around cool dude.

Those who are genuinely good and caring people, but who can also stand up for themselves and be assholes to assholes. Those who can be objective. Those who can listen to an opposing view and use arguments rather then insults to support their view. For those who are patient. Those who have control over their temper. Those who don't only consume, but also produce be that on a tangible or creative level. Those who like nice things, but don't base their whole life and happiness on pursuit of materialistic crap. Those who are not assholes and won't stab their friend in the back justifying it by the idiotic phrase "it's just business, nothing personal". Those who have principles, but are not afraid to revise them once in a while. Those who are honest when it comes to speaking their mind or not doing things that hurt people who are close to them. Those who are confident, but not cocky. That is those that are not afraid to say that they rule at something while also being able to admit that they suck at something else. For those who take things seriously when need be, but also can laugh at just about everything.
For these are the the people who I consider to be truly cool.

What exactly can I say about the last 12 months? "Breathtaking" wouldn't even be the word the describe it. Support from all of you has been overwhelming and having the chance to play for you at the events over this past year has been nothing short of surreal. All of you in Scandinavia, America, Canada, Europe, Indonesia, Australia, and Argentina have made trance really just as much fun as it was in the 90s when it had begun.
