The New York band was formed in the summer of 2004, and consists of 4 talented musicians that have been playing music individually for over 12 years. Vincent, Ed, and Adam met in their junior high school years and have remained close friends, but have not formed a band of their own until recently.
Rant's music is guitar-rock based with some electronic influences that transcends many age groups. With four band mates experienced in writing as well as playing multiple instruments, a broad musical background is brought together to produce a sound and range that appeals to a wide audience, of varied musical tastes.
Aside from being co-writer for Rant's music, Vincent lends his raw, powerful voice to the melodious atmosphere of the music. Lead singer Vincent was formally in the trio Two brothers and a White Guy, playing venues in New York such as CBGBs, The Elbow Room, Kenny's Castaways, Acme Underground as well as other well known scenes. The band separated in early 2004. Now that Rant has formed, Vincent has found his calling, delivering powerful stage presence, along with a voice that can scream or grab a listener and carry them along a melody.
Ed acts as co-writer and lead guitarist for Rant. His writing style brings the melodic undertones necessary for Rant's sound. Ed has obtained an Audio Engineering degree from Nassau Community College and a Bachelor's degree from Hunter College in NYC, majoring in Film and Media Studies. His love for musicianship began at age 12 and has since developed an obsessive addiction to music.
Adam's unique brand of drumming lends itself perfectly to the Rant sound. Left unleashed behind the kit Adam brings a toxic mixture of technical craft and unadulterated rage. He is also accomplished at several other instruments and is a theatrically trained singer. He has several recording credits, including his own instrumental album.
Filling in Rant's low end is Jersey-Born, Pennsylvania-raised Jason. Whether he's molding a soulful groove or pounding an adrenaline-fueled line, Jason is capable of grounding a song or making it take flight. The youngest member and resident geek of the group, he can quote movies, commercials, and Family Guy episodes at the drop of a hat. He's also performed as a frontman for Hijack Jupiter and the T.S.O. tribute 12/24. When he's not injuring himself or slinging drinks, he's braving the streets of his neighborhood of East Williamsburg. Or procrastinating. A LOT.
