About me: Lateefah, marieme and Janille Devi have converged their unique personalities and dance styles to form Raqs La’Majali, A World Dance Fusion Experience.
Born in April of 2006, Raqs La’Majali's expression of movement stems from the love and respect they have for traditional cultures. The trio's eclectic vibe is a fusion of Jazz, West African, East Indian, Egyptian, Caribbean and Dance Oriental creating a dynamic and energetic style that celebrates the joy of movement.
With a combined 84 years of dance training and teaching artist appearances, the women of Raqs La'Majali are currently artist in residence @ The Center for Modern Dance Education in Hackensack, New Jersey.
Who I'd like to meet: all things inspiring...guided by The Light, driven by Passion, gifted with Grace and nurtured through Love....simply, we just wanna DANCE!
Gorgeous Lateefah, Marieme & Janille...your spirits lift me ALWAYS...but your dancing makes my heart SING!!! Your music, choreography, presentation is ALWAYS spot on and emotionally charged to the point where I find it hard to stay in my chair and watch...I want to leap to my feet and cheer you on!!! What a blessing to spend time with you all at Friday's show! I had SOOOooooo much fun and LOVED shredding the dance floor with you after! O-M-G. You TOTALLY blew the roof off the show on Sunday. You can't see me right now...but I'm standing and applauding at my desk... Truly a superb performance by three of the nicest, coolest, most beautiful dames in NJ Dance!!! I look forward to seeing you all again very soon!!!
