RFL was brought to life by TOUCH OF CAS, Craig Anthony Smith. Raised in Philly on a steady diet of hip-hop and R&B, he started flowing early by memorizing Big Daddy Kane's Raw. After high-school CAS dug deeper into hip-hop while in college at IUP performing at parties and local IUP events. Moving to San Diego in 2001, he continued his MC-ing and recorded his first CD called The Art of Rhymin'. Having gained a fans through performing at local bars and night clubs, CAS decided to start a band. In 2006 CAS teamed up with local hip-hop producer/bass player Andrew Robinson, MC BrovaBey, drummer Felipe Aguinaldo and keyboardist Selena Jong. As the founding members, RFL stormed onto the San Diego hip-hop scene playing shows in the historical Gaslamp District night clubs and local San Diego bars. As their fan base grew, they added guitarist Jesse Miller from Bozeman, Montana, and local Matt De La Cruz to diversify their sound. RFL currently plays all over San Diego and CAS can still be found performing solo alongside with friends, lending his lyrical mastery.
