Guiliano is the name and I was born in the small, but rhythmic island of Trinidad, to legendary Pan Tuner and musician Lincoln Noel and Merle a book keep at local department store at that time. Trinidad is located in the Caribbean which is mainly known for our Carnival and Calypso. Therefore, my love for music and dancing was almost innate. It can be said that I grew up in New York City and it is here that I became involved in this fascinating journey. Some highlights of my young life include:
? At the age of 13, I started dancing for the Sam Jacobs Jazz Ensemble (Producer of Dana Dane's Nightmare's).
? At age16, joining the NYC base dance quartet named the J.A.C. dancers, where we performed at the world famous Hip Hop Clubs, Union Square, Latin Quarter and The Roof Top Skating Rink. I was also privileged to spawn some of best known hip hop choreographers, like Buddha Stretch (Elite Force, Mop Top) and Peter Paul (Tommy Hilfiger).
? By 17, I was one of the shaker's dancers for (Salt-n-Pepa, Kid-n-Play) and assisted in our choreographing and appeared in such videos as (Push It, Shake Your Thang, Everybody Get Up, and Twist & Shout).
? I toured the world from age 18-20 and performed on shows that included:
o Show Time at the Apollo
o Soul Train
o Top of the Pops
o and toured with entertainers such as:
? Keith Sweat
? Guy
? MC Hammer
? N.W.A.
? Heavy D & the Boys
? Sweet Tee
? Kid-n-Play
? DJ Wiz.
It was while touring and working with Hurby “Luv Bug” Azor (Producer of Salt-n-Pepa, Dana Dane, Kid-n-Play and The Invincible), I discovered what I really wanted to do which was what he was doing, and produce hit records.
I am now a certified and experienced Producer. Some of my accomplishments include:
? Producing for local rap and reggae dancehall artist who performed locally.
? Working with other Production Companies and writing jingles for the Hue Corporation (formally Don Coleman Agency) and being the Associate Producer for III D Entertainment Inc.
? Furthering my music career by working on a single with producer “Dunn Dee and Henchmen Entertainment”.
? Teaming up with the Smokin Word Organization and producing several songs for their poetry album entitled “From Brooklyn to Harlem” giving tight grooves to the talented artist of Smokin Word and even blessing the microphone myself with my own song “Woman” and performing along side other poets in the stage adaptation of the album.
? In 2002, I was hired by White Tiger Entertainment to produce the Title Song to their play “My Baby’s Daddy”, following up with the score to the short film (Chosen Life) written, produced, and directed by Adonnus Tousant. I was the Executive Producer of the sound track, which featured the very talented “Mike Hammond” who performed on “Why Can’t I Be” for the film.
? Providing a song for the independent movie “Kali’s Vibe” with artist Ra Sekhem & Alaska.
? Competing in the Acapulco Black Film Festival Film Scoring Competition.
? Producing a demo “How Could You Love Me” for then unknown American Idol finalist Anwar Robinson.
? Being a Live Engineer at the Butterfly Lounge where I did sound for up and coming artist:
? Jeremy James
? Jenny Fujita
? Kviva Finley
? Black Bush
? Chinuwa Hawk
? John Stephens a.k.a. John Legend.
? Working with premiere R&B show case “Star-Link Entertainment) where I worked closely with Shawn & Niashia Richardson, developing the sound and feel of their show. This afforded the opportunity to work along side artist as:
? Abby Dobson
? Frank Carter
? Jayci
? Kevin So
? Producing a record for dancehall & house music artist “The Mad Stuntman” (I Like To Move It).
? Releasing my single, “Jah Love” a conscious vibe on a hard rhythm with big drums and infectious lyrics, bringing together the smooth vocals of Flixter and the well crafted rhythm of the production team and musicians.
? Working with Producer “Neil “Judah” James, who I scored his film “Dungeons & Dawgs”to shoot the video to my single “Jah Love.
Being a Brooklyn resident reminds me much like living in the islands, the community is a mixture of islander’s that blends together side by side music, culture, and food, which affords me the opportunity to truly make deeper moves musically into my roots. As can be noted, my love for art has also led me to not only being behind the scenes, but also to write and perform.
I consider myself to be so much more than just music and I believe it is by visiting my page and working with me, all you aspiring and young artiste out there that you would get to understand and appreciate the depth of my love for the art and with God’s help appreciate all that you can be also.
So I hope you enjoy the music and art, and stay posted, cause big things a gwan as they say. God is love.
I remember hip hop when:
The South Bronx took over Queens Bridge, when Scott La rock still lived,
When Moe Dee told us to have self-sex, to Go See the Doctor or we could be next, Red alerts sirens still could be heard, and Chuck Dee would fight the power with his words,
I remember Hip-Hop when:
Eric-B ran for president but in Rakim is who we trust, Forth & Broadway was their label but you knew they rolled was Rush,
Doug E fresh was the worlds greatest entertainer, Ricky Dee was our literary scholar, Cool J was the ladies lover and Ultra Magnetic was like no other.
I remember Hip-Hop when:
Paradise ran the door at the LQ, MC Lyte made Paper Thin, when Milk was Chilling, Gizmo Chilling and Coca-Cola Shirts was in.
The battles at Union Square were legendary between J.A.C. & I.O.U.
I Met Michelle that night and we become friend for life,
My first night on stage, boy was I afraid, but I heard it blast out the speaker box, Tramp (do Tramp song)
The first four beats in that measure the first four count in my routine sixteen more steps and then the eight moves for my first solo,
Yeah I was still afraid but I was on stage,
I remember Hip-Hop when:
Clark Kent brought the beat back, and I jumped back into formation
Doing the wop, it was Stretch, Peter Paul, Bam-Bam, and Dannilo, Chase,
Big Ill and Tron.
We danced each night from the dance floor to the stage back to the floor
every Friday night in 86 Eric be easy on the mix.
I remember Hip-Hop when:
We were the leaders of the new school, now Im considered to be old school
But I was there in 86 with my blonde flattop and K-Swiss my over sized shirt that I found in the back of my moms closet.
I remember Hip-Hop when:
Our battles were just that, battles for fun, didnt need no guns
Didnt need any bulletproof cars, no big bodyguards, and beef was something that Wendys sold
You see Hip Hop was made so we could express ourselves in ways like no others could do
I remember Hip Hop when it was just you and me.
