Rasa Vitalia is a professional dance artist, specializing in Middle Eastern Dance, with over a decade of experience in multiple dance forms, including Near/Middle Eastern and Afro-Brazilian. Rasa’s mastery of sword balance, percussive cymbal rhythms, and dynamic movement makes her one of the most sought after performers in the world dance music scene.

Rasa is an instructor of Belly Dance Basics and Samba+Belly Dance fusion, and teaches workshops and classes in dance studios within the San Francisco Bay Area, and throughout the U.S. on request. Her approach to dance instruction is the focus on the healing & primal qualities of dance.
"Rasa," pronounced (RAH sa), in its entirety means "passion in the spirit" in many different cultures. This name is used in English (Passion), Afghani (Expressive), Sanskrit (Nectar, flavor; full of essence), Javanese (feeling), and Persian/Farsi (Expressive/meaning). Rasa means "head" or "beginning" in Arabic & "Dew" in Lithuanian. The name "Vitalia" originates from Latin and it is predominantly used in Italian as well as Lithuanian. Derived from the word "vitalis," it has the meaning 'vital, full of life '.

It would be great to team up for some more shows. My first solo CD, Seven Serenades for Scalloped Fretboard Guitar, will be in stores starting 2/10/2009. It would be fun to do some dance and guitar work again!
