Living in the heart of Belize, the capital city Belmopan, “Brimstone” has progressively gained recognition as 1 of ‘Belize’s Purest Roots Reggae Bands’.
Their unique and energetic style of reggae was created in early 2003 when guitarist, James {Jimmas} Hyde & bass player, Mark {Diesel} Wagner, (both former members of Fiyah Hart Band) combined forces with childhood friends, Nkrumah Obi {Drummer} and Ras Indio Obi {keyboardist/vocalist} sons of legendary Belizean Musician, Bredda David Obi.
Performing at many local events countrywide, Brimstone began establishing their “Blazing Revolutionary sound”, which has now gained them major respect throughout the streets and (small but growing) music scene in Belize.
They have since grown to be Belize’s .. 1 Opening Act for many International showcases:
“Sizzla Kalonji” – June 19th, 2004, “Luciano” - December 18th, 2004
“Barrington Levy” – December 31st, 2005, “I-Wayne” – August 12th, 2006,
just to name a few…..
While in the process of recording their 1st full length album, their bright new sound can be heard on tracks 6 & 7 of Ras Indio’s latest album, “Cant Stop We Now” {which can also be heard on website www.RasIndioBelize.com} & also they helped musically produce Redadan’s album….”Moving Forward.”
Brimstone has also produced riddims for different Belizean Artists. 1 of the biggest being “Mama Don’t Cry” which featured “Sons of Negus”. It reached and remained ..1 for 3 consecutive weeks on Belize’s National Radio count down; “KREM FM 96.5”
As the Almighty works in mysterious ways, we can only believe that it is His will & true destiny for these 4 Rastafarians to have reunited, to now bring a joy unto Jah people, a Spirit of Love & Righteousness through their positive energy within the music. They continue to work hard preparing themselves to spread JAH messages Worldwide.

Award winning Belizean Reggae/Dancehall Artist, RAS INDIO, continuesc to represent putting Belizeans on the international musical map. Spreading Positive Vibes worldwide with his unique lyrical delivery combined with an energetic stage presence, guarantee to Light Up every stage and ignite any crowd. His musical style is 1 of Traditional African Elements mixed with the Hardcore sound of Roots Reggae, lyrically filled with Inspirational Messages of Truth & Righteousness.
Ras Indio, aka David Cynque Obi, was born in Los Angeles, CA on September 23, 1976 to Belizean parents, Bredda David Obi & Ms. Beaulah Heusner. His creativity is evident in his Musical Lineage, as his Father is a Well-Known Belizean Musician, and the Innovator of Belizean Kungo Music. As a Youth, Ras Indio relocated to Belize learning the keyboards with the Guidance of his Father. He started Performing @ Local Events throughout Belize at age 12 as the keyboardist in his Father’s band, "Tribal Vibes". Between the Ages of 15-21, He made annual trips with the band internationally touring Mexico, USA, and Europe.
Returning to the US in 1994, Indio, Along with his cousin Quinn & family friend Mosez, Created the 1st Belizean – Hip Hop/Dancehal group in Los Angeles called Da Wood Dwellas. Together they produced 2 underground albums in the U.S. & made a few visits to Belize opening for, Beenieman, Mr. Vegas, Berres Hammond, & Xstatic. They also made a Television appearance on MTV, a show called hosted by the Late Lisa "Left Eye" Lopez of TLC.
Ras Indio moved back to Belize in 1999 & developed Indigenous Productions embarking on his solo career. His First Album, released in Belize was entitled "Free up Mi Nation", which featured his number 1 Radio Hit, "Wild Wild West", This song made it to 2 on Belize’s Radio, 96.5 Krem FM’s Top 10 Countdown. It is still heavily used as an Anti-Violence anthem throughout Belize. Ras Indio’s Music can also be heard on 104.7 2Bob Radio Therapy in Australia; 99.2 MEGA Radio in France with D.J. Prince Thierry, in Hawaii with D.J. Al on Irie Radio just to name a few; chek www.rasindiobelize.com for more radio listings.
After His first release, He linked up with other talented musicians around Belmopan, Belize to form the "Brimstone Family", a group with which he still performs. They are known as the Purest, Roots Reggae band in Belize.
Our 2007 "Push up the FIRE” Tour was truly successful, 5/17 in Los Angeles, Ca Malcolm X Fest , 8/11 in Eugene Oregon NW World Reggae Fest, 7/23 in Toronto, Canada for "Rastafest 07", 6/16 in Las Vegas, NV "Reggae in the Desert". These are only a few of the stops where he shared the stage with many International acts such as Culture, The Wailers, Third World, Luciano, Ky-Mani Marley, Baby Cham, Queen Ifrica, Maxi Priest and Many others.
His work has been chronicled in, local Belizean newspapers such as "The Belizean Times, The Reporter, & The Amandala."
