About me: For Raspberry Beret designer, Maggie Scardifield, adorning herself in fabulous things has always been her greatest love.
Fashion & Accessorising went hand in hand, not only a means of self expression- but a chance for her to experiment and celebrate being a woman.
And so after working for 3 years with another young woman in Jewellery Design and gaining the nessesary experience, she decided it was time to branch out and launch her own label. In February of 2007, ‘Raspberry Beret’ was born.
A collection of handmade, custom designed jewellery with an edgy vintage flair- Raspberry Beret’s aim was to create something new and unique for young women today. Statement pieces, both bold in design and bright with flavour and originality.
Channelling the intense femininity and fashion forward spirit of her Grandmother ‘Peg’ and Mother ‘Penny’- Maggie began taking pre-loved pieces of the past, re-working them and making them loved once more.
With names like ‘Unlock My Love’, ‘Bedrock’ & ‘Dressups in My Mother’s Closet’, Raspberry Beret alludes a slightly romantic- and sometimes flirtatious essence.
Sourcing various vintage & antique pieces from her travels around the globe- it was Maggie’s aim to create a series of ‘One-Off’ pieces- that you wouldn’t see on just anyone when walking down the street.
Combining 2nd hand and vintage findings, semi precious stones, Swarovski crystals, freshwater and cultivated pearls, brass stampings, charms and chain…chain...chain, Raspberry Beret successfully fuses past and present.
Raspberry Beret is a Reflection; & more importantly a celebration- of three generations of fashionable and fabulous women.
