Ras Prophet is based in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and has performed extensively in Pennsylvania, Ohio, Indiana and West Virginia, since 1989. The band has shared the stage with a roster of reggae superstars, including concerts with Maxi Priest, Shabba Ranks, Shaggy, Aswad, Lucky Dube, Barrington Levy John Holt, Inner Circle, Eek-a-Mouse, Burning Spear, Yellowman, Andrew Tosh, Supercat, Junior Reid, Rusted Root, the Ark Band and the University of Michigan Marching Band.
The band has performed at nearly two dozen colleges and universities in three states in addition to numerous community, arts and cultural festivals ranging from Pittsburgh's Three Rivers Arts Festival and the Mahoning County (OH) Rib Cook-Off to the University of Ohio's Reggaefest, the Jamaican Me Crazy Festival and the South Side Summer Street Spectacular.
Ras Prophet was selected as the band to perform at the Pittsburgh Steelers official citywide playoff pep rally in 2001 and by Major League Baseball to play at the 2006 All-Star FanFest Gala.
Ras Prophets independent release, Feel the Fire, has received air-play across the United States and in more than a half-dozen countries and was featured in an off-Broadway theatrical performance. Ras Prophet has performed live on the air at WPTS (Pittsburgh, PA), WNCD (Youngstown, OH) and ACRN (Athens, OH).
Ras Prophets core line-up of five collectively has nearly 100 years of professional reggae performance experience, and is ready to make your next event extra special.
