***** REVIEW FROM KAMIKAZE TAILSPIN BLOG ********
" Guess what? Rat Damage (see Crucial Cause split June 2nd, 09) are back with their self titled 7inch and they're pissed! All of the band's previous elements are still there too: Gritty vocals, heavy blues riffs, & a mission to fuck you up! My boyfriend secretly ordered this for me not knowing that I was already going to pick up a copy (with a different cover) at a show they played in East Los Angeles a couple of weeks ago. A girl doesn't have to tell her significant other everything, does she? A boyfriend does, though. Double standards rock!!! Anyway, I highly recommend seeing them play. The energy they have is infectious to say the least. You can get this 5 song ep at F.Y.B.S. Records or by going to one of their shows. There is only a pressing of 500 (400 on black vinyl, 70 on red w/special cover, 30 on red w/extra special cover), so hop to it. Easily one of my favorite California punk bands for sure. "

" CRUCIAL CAUSE/RAT DAMAGE-split EP
Holy crap! This split EP featuring CRUCIAL CAUSE and RAT DAMAGE kicks some large quantities of punk butt! CRUCIAL CAUSE leads us into battle with "No Words," "Fess Up," and "Piss Ant". All threee songs have snotty vocals, shitloads of attitude, and a better source of anger than those tired old MINOR THREAT records. Flip this over and you are in luck! RAT DAMAGE picks up the gauntlet and takes it to a dangerous place! The menacing vocals of RAT DAMAGE rival the classic damage done by the TUNNEL RATS fifteen years ago. RAT DAMAGE starts the destruction with "Self Medicated". This song is fucking brilliant. Next up is the self-titled "Rat Damage". Excellent!!! This band just keeps getting more threatening by the minute! After being trounced "Self Medicated" and "Rat Damage" you get the third assault: "Jerk Project". Brutal! Rough! Raw! And it's not over yet. You get eviscerated by one more tune as RAT DAMAGE drops the hammer on you with "Pillls"! Fuck yes! This is an amazing split! You must order this immediately! (BR)"
******************Flat Black Records Says:
" CRUCIAL CAUSE/ RAT DAMAGE SPLIT 7"
-The second official Flat Black Distribution title. These Crucial Cause tracks are songs left over from the “Try Our Luck” recording session, so anyone who has heard that record knows what to expect here. Great thrashy hardcore with a strong NYHC feel to it. Rat Damage have a more mid tempo approach and are rockin’ in that Sick Pleasure kind of way but with gruff, throaty vocals that bring bands from the Midwest to mind."
************************************Cowabunga Records Says:
"YES, New Crucial Cause material! Crucial Cause come back w more of their ripping take on NY style hardcore punk but done via the Bay Area,, still in this early YOT mode (esp in the lyrics but musically a little as well) but a bit more Abused/Antidote in the works on these tunes too which I think makes them better,, their new 7'' should be out in a few months. Rat Damage also from Norcal is also old sounding but more in the standard way of USHC, not really sounding from anywhere is what I'm getting at,, good stuff. Limited to a very small 400 copies, these are numbered in the later 80's (ironic?)!"
.................4 reject asswipes that have played in countless other bands either full time or as "fill in" folks....including OFFICER DOWN, ANTI-BODIES, FURIOUS GEORGE, LIPLOCK, OUTGUNNED,FORMS IN FLUX,BOARD TO DEATH.
