In the beginning...
Rated-R was born in Surrey, BC which is a suburb of Vancouver.
He attended high school there until the Ninth grade when he dropped out. He began running away from home, stealing cars and, doing drugs.
When he was 14 years old he began rapping and, producing his own songs. And took on the name “King Kash”. By the time he was 15 he was self producing his own full length albums.
At age 16 he spent a year in a juvenile detention center for a string of robberies. There he focused mainly on his writing career.
When he was 17 he was released and was in the studio within a few months, professionally recording a 5 song demo.
Rising Action...
In 1993 Rated-R made a famous recording called "u kicked my dog" as his alter ego - Kerpal
With no major label interest Rated-R enrolled in a year long digital/analog recording arts program at Columbia Academy located in Vancouver.
There he recorded a full length album on the first version of pro-tools.
After he finished the course he began his own independent record label and began signing other artists.
He became a fixture in local clubs and began doing appearances with a number or local heavy metal and rock bands.
2000 on...
In March of 2000 Rated- R officially released his first album entitled Easyrider 2000, it was an underground hit moving 2500 units the first month, by hand.
In 2001 he released his second album entitled Mr. Montani, which had a higher level of production, sound and, writing quality.
In 2002 he filmed 2 videos which both received airplay on Much Music and helped launch the release of his third album in 2004 entitled, Memoirs of a Wiseguy.
In 2005, Rated-R released an album of instrumental tracks, which was highly anticipated by DJ’s in local night clubs.
Present...
Rated-R is currently working on the first season of his own reality show entitled, “It’z Tha Rated-R Show” where he is pursuing e degree in entertainment law. He is also working on the production of his 4th full length studio album. Currently all CD’s can be purchased on amiestreet.com/ratedr
