Books
The last book I read was a gift from my special friend, Chelle, titled "I love everybody & other attrocious lies". It made me laugh out loud at work during lunch breaks & disturb the people around me!
I read a Patsy Cline biography & also a Bettie Page (unauthorized bio) "The Real Bettie Page". THAT book just broke my heart...poor Bettie.
I am very lazy about reading although I used read alot. I have a small colleciton of kids books too; some are favorites I saved from my own childhood, others I just loved the artwork or the story etc & bought it just to have.
Also I love "coffee-table" books of lots of stuff, vintage stuff, rat books, Pin-up art, & so on.
MY BELOVED CRANK-TONES!
About me: I'm smart and creative, Sometimes I'm shy, sometimes I'm outgoing, sometimes I'm silly. I like people & having fun (duh!)..I am genuine and funny.
I love my pets, my little cousins, my friends, alot of different kinds of music, going out to see bands (mostly friends) & taking pictures. I grew up singing with my dad in his general business band. These days I sing & play bass. My last band, The Crybabies, was garage-pop group that still enjoys airplay on satellite radio.
My father, Rick Palmer, was a guitar player. He led a very interesting life. He was on the road w/ his band, The Kampus Kids, at the age of 13. He did manage to fit (most of) high school in somehow. He had the opportunity to meet Little Richard (who pinched my dad's butt, also offered Dad a job in his band), Johnny Mathis (saw Dad's set & bought him a drink), & he played with Roy Orbison, to name a few. He was a session musician & more. He had a single released in 1968 on the United Artists lable. Needless to say, my father is my great hero & a key influence in my life (both good & bad). He passed away at the young age of 49 from liver disease in 1990 & I still miss him very much.
My mom started out as a model & then met my dad. He taught her how to play keyboard & put her in the band as eye-candy! She was diagnosed w/ Parkinsons around 1988 & has gradually had to adjust her life & learn to compromise on what she can & cannot do.
I am totally rat-crazy. I used to love cats but once I bought my first 2 rats in 2006 I was forever changed to a crazy rat girl. I am so crazy about them & think they are such an amazing pet. I love them so much that when I think about their short life span, I sometimes cry (awww..) but I try to think about them as the candle that burns twice as bright & half as long.
