1996. Brest, Belarus – musicians first time work together making soundtracks for experimental films, performances etc. Music combines minimalistic themes, free improvisation, aleatoric, noise and happening.
1997-1999. Band named Rational Diet stops playing “applied” music and became something like a collaboratory of composers who write serious contemporary rock(?) compositions with elements of improvisation. Dozens concerts in Belarus. First recordings (“From the grey notebook”, 1999).
2000-2002. Minsk, Belarus - Something like coma in RD's activity. Band consists of just two musicians but continues to play. RD takes part in almost all festivals of contemporary art in Belarus cooperating with poets and performers. Music for a couple of theater works.
2003-2006. New cast of musicians and new manner of playing – RD becames an acoustic chamber ensemble. “The Shameless” recorded in august 2004 demonstrates new abilities of band after such metamorphoses.
