Did you see that myspace has a forum called "Forum » General » Promote Your Music For Film!" I bet you could find a bunch of bands on there for your soundtrack. I don't know if you already have this lined up or not but hey if you don't, this might be worth a try!

I tend to like 30 second teaser trailers, with lots of action and cuts. I feel it tends to make the movie look much more action packed and it makes you want more.
It would be awesome if you could get some original heavy metal music for the trailer and the movie soundtrack. I am positive you could if you haven't already done so. An original soundtrack would totally rock and build more buzz because then you would have a band or multiple bands out there promoting your movie as well!
I had another marketing idea for your movie. How about doing a geocaching hunt. Bury clues in containers around the area and leave clues on your website on how to find these items. As people find them, they can post them on your site. When all the clues are found, they could spell out a message in some way that would help free the buried guy or something like that, 'before it's too late.'
