Rattled is a band that will get your pulses pumping and your body bouncing…the infectious rhythms, harmony vocals and instrumentation guarantee a great dancing time will be had by all.
The Welsh band Rattled is based in Swansea and plays an exciting mix of covers and original material which blend the styles of Rock, Blues, Celtic, and Ska music. Examples of songs covered by Rattled are
Great Balls of Fire by Jerry Lee Lewis, Galway Girl by Steve Earle, Whiskey in the Jar by Thin Lizzie, Rattled by the Travelling Wilburys, Losing My Religion by REM, Beautiful Day by the Levellers, and Night Boat to Cairo by Madness
The line-up consists of Criss on banjo, mandolin and vocals, Jan on electric violin and electric guitar, Tim on guitar and vocals, Jeff on drums and percussion, and Chris on bass and vocals.
Chris Jones is an accomplished bass player and vocalist and has also successfully toured abroad as well as in the UK in various covers and originals bands.
Jeff Evans on drums along with Chris on bass provides the engine-room for the band’s rhythm. Jeff is a very versatile drummer who can play all styles of music ranging from 1960s classic rock & roll to modern day pop and rock.
Tim Lewis on guitar and vocals is the front-man for the band, and recently calculated that he can remember the words to over 100 songs, ranging from the old rock and roll classics like Elvis’ That’s Alright Mama, to the Pogues' version of Dirty Old Town.
Criss Lewis on 5-string banjo has mixed together the Bluegrass Banjo style with traditional Celtic melodies and added in the latest rock patterns to create some stonking great sounds. An accomplished teacher of electric and bass guitar, Criss also plays mandolin and brings a strong musicality to Rattled.
Jan Howard on electric fiddle and electric guitar has played in American Old-Timey bands and in a Cajun band, and brings those styles into the melting pot of Rattled tunes and songs. Jeff Beck’s classic guitar break in Hi Ho Silver Lining sounds great done on electric violin in harmony with Criss’ banjo.
Rattled also mix in some traditional dance tunes including jigs and reels to help keep people up on their feet and dancing, and watch out for some comical quotes from TV and film music thrown in from time to time to keep you on your toes.
The new cd 'The Ferryside Sessions' by Rattled! is now available, and the next opportunities to see Rattled! in action and buy a cd are given in the Upcoming Shows list.
I’ve been a music journalist for more than 10 years. Over the years, many artists and managers have asked me what the best way to break into the European music market is.
Here are some things you can do:
Publish artist press releases, news, and tour dates to the CountryHome Forum on MySpace, http://groups.myspace.com/CountryHomeMagazine , CountryHome Forum is part of CountryHome, http://www.CountryHome.de , Germany's Premier Country Music Online Magazine. Everything you publish to the CountryHome Forum will be published in my weekly Newsletter which has over 80,000 readers.
Send me CDs and DVDs for review and set up an artist interview with me. All reviews and interviews will be submitted to the magazines I'm writing for. More information for which magazines I'm writing can be found at http://www.MySpace.com/ChristianLamitschka
Upload artist videos to http://www.MyVideo.de and http://www.ClipFish.de . Both websites are like http://www.YouTube.com and uploading videos is free. The websites are completely in German. If you don’t speak German and need assistance, I will help you open an account and upload a video for 25 Euro. Each additional video upload for the same artist name and at the same video website is 10 Euro.
If you have more questions about the European music market or about any of the information I send to you today, please contact me at Ch.Lamitschka@t-online.de too.
