We have a variety of influences which include bands like Dedannan and The Bothy Band. We have been influenced in some way by all the musicians we have met or heard over the years, that is the way of the traditional music of Ireland.

Rattle the Boards are a group of fine musicians based in Waterford and South Tipperary in Ireland. They met in 1992 and have played to thousands of music lovers since. In 1994 Benny, Pat and John were featured on a recording of a ceili band they played with called “The Knocknagow Céili Band” In 1995 Benny founded the Internantional renowned band “Danú” and made music his fulltime career. In 1998 Rattle The Boards debut record simply entitled “Rattle The Boards” was released. This recording received much deserved applause from critics who found the organic and natural feel of the record refreshing. Rattle the boards have performed many concerts and Fleadh Ceoils in Ireland over the years and also to audiences in The Netherlands, Germany and Switzerland.
The Irish Times newspaper said "Rattle the boards are Playing tunes familiar to many parishes, but with a bit fire under them”
In 2003 their music helped inspire the hugely successful Des Dillon theatre production “Teac A Bloc” in which all the music is performed by Rattle The Boards. They appeared on Irelands No.1 television chat show “The Late Late Show” in December 2003 with two sketches from Teac A Bloc and since have enjoyed sold out performances throughout Ireland. In March 2008 Rattle the boards have released a new album "The Parish Platform" featuring many special guests including Jon Kenny,Donnchadh Gough and many others. Beside all their achievements todate their priority still remains to enjoy playing music. Please feel free to view our website www.rattletheboards.com for more details

Thanks for the request - lovely stuff - wish you were travelling a bit more to the east in Canada - would be great to catch a session in Toronto! CHEERS!
Rattle the Boards dear: I wish I could invite your lovely band to play in an old farm barn. It'd be music all night and I'm quite sure you'd easily bring the house down with your hot fast beautiful country melodies. Your music is rather similar to our FORRÓ, a sort of dancing rhythm very popular all over Brazil and not even wallflower ladies would have a single rest. My congratulations, your music is topping. I hope you can find out any interest in my provincial tunes as well. Please accept my love and ardent admiration ever,
Great to see the gig in aid of Newcastle school. Looking forward to the Junction festival bash. Great stuff
Lia Fáil is our latest album. Our debut album “Shadows & Stone was described as - “vivid music, enabling mythologies to become lucid. One can almost imagine Merlins warrior maiden Brigantia entering the fray, fighting off those who would canonise her as St Brigid to muddy her true Celtic goddess roots" - Kindred Spirit Magazine Dec 2008 (Kindred Spirit is the UK’s leading mind body and spirit magazine)" www.keltoria.com
I want to thank you gentlemen for bringing yourselves to my attention. I can't help but wonder why you only share small snatches of your fine music. I admit, it's enough to create a desire in myself to hear more but I can hardly showcase such a morsel on my own page. I suppose I'll just have to make do with the video.
