Sounds Like
My music always seems to have a darkness to it. Some is very dark. My guitar playing is somewhere between Al DiMeola and David Gilmoure -- tasteful is a word that keeps being used when people tell me what they think of my playing. On keys, the Jonathan Cain influence seems to show up in my piano playing, while my synth playing is definitely more on the Jan Hammer side. Vocally, my voice is somewhat like Bono and/or David Bowie -- or at least that's what I am told.
I played Keyboards with Gene Simmons at the Las Vegas Hard Rock Hotel on November 9, 2007. Watch for me on an episode of "Gene Simmons Family Jewels". I know for sure the episode has aired at least twice and I am getting alot of positive email regarding it.
Current news:
I am currently recording an album and performing throughout Las Vegas with Goldy Rox. Goldy Rox was formed in the Summer of 2009 by Gayla Dawn of Jaggedy Ann. So far, Goldy Rox has done several high-profile press events including a publicity event with Alice Cooper at the John Varvatos Grand Opening Party at the Hard Rock Cafe, Las Vegas. Watch for Goldy Rox's debut album in early to mid 2010.
In addition to playing bass with Goldy Rox, I will be playing bass tracks on an rock album from Daylon Wear to be released through Epic Records in late 2010.
Don't know what will happen with this -- Still being shopped for an album deal with Rock/Country band The Moneys. Also involved with the album are Grammy Winning Producer Andy Byrd (Steve Earle, Asleep at the Wheel), Daylon Wear (Johnny Cash, Warner Bros.). Neon Coast Management; Billy Truitt.
Previously worked with:
Gene Simmons
Friends of Distinction (RCA Records)
Hell 'n' Back (Danger Crue Records)
Rachel Alejandro (Viva Records)
Peter Marrino (Cacophony, Lemanns)
Ron Keel (Steeler, Keel)
Paul Shortino (Quiet Riot, Rough Cutt)
Next, I do keep in touch with Hideaki Nakama and his Management, but there is nothing 'new and exciting' to report. Hideaki is the guitar player in Hell 'n' Back, and we did an album ("Sacred Wind" on Danger Crue Records) and a tour of Japan(including a sold-out show at Budokan -- see my pictures) at the end of 2005. The album is only available in Japan and Europe at this time, but you can check out the songs on the Hell 'n' Back myspace page. While Hell 'n' Back hasn't done much as a band since, we all seem to be doing well. Last time I spoke with Jimmy Wells, he was doing some sessions for Brad Gillis... Ironically, Peter Marrino (Producer for "Sacred Wind") had just asked me about doing some shows with Night Ranger, but that never materialized... And Dan Bryant has teamed up with a manager and doing his own thing as well. I wish them all success and maybe Hell 'n' Back will do another album!
