Rich Caplan: Vocals, Guitar
Rich's smooth guitar rides and funky rhythms and Lead vocals add to the versatility to the Ratz sound. Rich has played Las Vegas with some top notch players such as Mark Rivera and Liberty Devito of Billy Joels band, John Cafferty and the Beaver Brown bands keyboardist Steve Burke. Rich, native of New York moved to Atlanta 27 years ago and never looked back. When the Ratz called Rich looking for a guitarist it was a real no brainer. Rich said " It is a real blast playing with such A quality players, I am very lucky they asked me to be a part of it".. We are proud to welcome the newest Ratz!!!!
CHARLES SHEARER: Vocals, Keyboards
A young Charles was encouraged by his father's love of classical music to begin his career in which he played exclusively for seventeen years. A combination of a formal education in music theory, his strong keyboard and voice skills puts you back to the beloved "Beatles" era that has greatly influenced his style. Charles has played with the great Percy Sledge as well as Atlanta local bands Firewater and Bullet Head. GARY"HAP" DOTY: Vocals, Bass
Born in Macon, Ga. Hap has been making a living at playing the Bass since 1967, and has been on the Atlanta Music scene playing in such groups as The Younguns, Micropolis, The Wayne Bruce Band., Footloose, Peachtree Posse, and Gordon Dee and Pure Ivory. Hap also backed up race driver Kyle Petty (opened for Hank Willams Jr., Tanya Tucker, Oak Ridge Boys.) Also Hap has opened for The Judds--George Strait--Waylon Jennings--Charlie Daniels--Tony Joe White--Mel Tillis--John Anderson. Along with solid bass playing is Hap's vocal talent. Strong high lead vocals and smooth harmonies add a new variety to the Ratz
EDDIE GRAY: Drums
Eddie Gray. "Solid in the pocket groove.. drums. Eddie adds a new spark to the Ratz sound. Eddie has played drums for Travis Tritt, David Allan Coe, Orpheum Circuit,Stone Mountain Band. In 1987 Eddie played drums with Jimbo in "Jetstream". Eddie has performed on the "Tonight Show" with Johnny Carson and Jay Leno, The Grand Ole Opry and numerous other shows.
