I'm a news JUNKIE so i'm often reading it/watching it/talking about it. I love Public Radio (NPR/PBS/PRI), The New York Times, The Economist, and CNN.com among other outlets. I also enjoy reading in general (lots of different genres but mostly non-fiction) and magazines (espcially my bible, GQ).
Other interest include running, movies, TV, the beach, anything on/near/in the ocean, travel, aviation (i got my private pilots license several years ago) cooking, eating, shopping, drinking, fashion, art, music, architecture, entertaining, living the good life!
Music
I love so many artists that i'd be here all day. I love all music from classical to punk. As with life, i tend to look for something good in everything. Maxwell is my favorite male singer ever and i love people like D'Angelo, Angie Stone, Jill Scott, Erykah Badu, India Arie, John Legend Also really in love with Kelly Clarkson and James Blunt right now.
I love a lot of jazz singers, too. Etta James, Ella Fitzgerald, Chet Baker from the old school and Norah Jones and Dianna Krall from the new school. I like bands like Jimmy Eat World, the Killers, All American Rejects, and System of a Down. From the world of hip-hop I really enjoy rappers that have something to say and not just rapping about bitches and ho's and guns and cars (Mos Def, Common, Talib Kweli, Kanye West etc). Believe it or not, I love country too (mostly country women). Reba McEntire, Dolly Parton, Faith Hill, Dixie Chicks, Mary Chapin Carpenter, Martina McBride, Lorrie Morgan. I even love Paula Abdul (thanks entirely to an old, dear friend)...I like having music in my life. It's my soundtrack.

.. width="425" height="350">..>I love television and i love to laugh, so all my favorite shows tend to be comedies or shows that are dark but funny (like Six Feet Under). Sex & the City, Will and Grace, Desperate Housewives, Grey's Anatomy, Golden Girls, Spongebob, The Simpsons, American Idol, America's Next Top Model, Kathy Griffin, Chappelle's Show (even though i've seen them all). I'm also a big fan of The Food Network (especially Paula Deen and her hot sons), TLC, History Channel, Discovery, and National Geographic. I can pretty much watch anything on these channels and be entertained. I also love the original programming on HBO & Showtime including Big Love, Entourage (especially the Oh-So-Sexy Jeremy Piven), Weeds, and Six Feet Under to name a few.

I hate doing these things...I never really know how to describe myself. I'm a little bit of everything all rolled into one!
I guess i'll just dive right in: I was born in Montego Bay, Jamaica We moved to beautiful Wilmington, Delaware when i was 5. It was pretty rough growning up there (inner city, rough neighborhood, kinda poor)...but i survived and am a better person because of where i grew up.
So, we lived there until I graduated high school in 1995 then I moved to Tampa , where i've lived ever since...
I actually hate talking about myself so i'll finish this off by saying I love my family, i love my friends, and...I love seafood? Or in the words of the immortal Gladys Hardy on Ellen, "I love Jesus, but i like to drink a little."
Who I'd like to meet: In terms of new friends, i'm always looking to meet interesting people with actual, original opinions, thoughts, ideas, and feelings. Politically i'm somewhere in the middle and always looking for people to engage in lively political and social debate! Also, I LOVE people who make me laugh and who love to laugh.
Maybe if I list some famous people that'll clear it up. God, there are so many people, though. I'll try to name a few: Oprah,
Anderson Cooper, Maya Angelou, Paris Hilton, the Italian soccer team David Beckham, Maxwell, the cast of Desperate Housewives, Bill Clinton, the cast of Sex and the City, George Bush (so i could cock-punch him), JFK, Angelina Jolie, Sharon Osbourne (she seems like she'd be fun to drink with), Tyler Florence, Morgan Freeman, Ben Franklin, Julia Child, Jake Gyllenhaal, Ella Fitzgerald, Katie Couric, Barbara Walters, Coretta Scott King.
I could go on and on but there are just so many people that I'd like to sit with for an hour and pick their brains (or in the case of W., punch in the balls) that this would take forever! Suffice it to say i'm interested in a lot of things and, therefore, interested in meeting a lot of people...including you :)
