Raul Manjarrez grew up in Albuquerque, New Mexico, and currently resides in Greensboro, North Carolina. At the age of twelve he began playing the piano on his own. Two years later he began piano lessons, which he continued through high school. After graduating from La Cueva High School, in Albuquerque, Raul moved to North Carolina, where he studied with Dylan Savage at the University of North Carolina-Charlotte -- earning a B.M. in Piano Performance. Raul then went on to graduate studies at the University of North Carolina-Greensboro, studying with John Salmon for two years, before graduating with a M.M. in Piano Performance.
Raul has served as Keyboardist/Accompanist at Muir's Chapel United Methodist Church since 2007. Throughout the course of his development, he has participated in masterclasses given by such distinguished artists as: Jon Nakamatsu, José Feghali, Pedja Muzijevic and Sedmara Zakarian Rutstein. In a review of a recent performance, the Classical Voice of North Carolina praised "the fleet and expressive work of Manjarrez at the piano."
