Ravel began in 2005, when Brandon Carswell sought to catch a vision that blended sincere music with honest, real lyrics, relating to people of all backgrounds. Brandon originally started the band with his older brother, Shaun Carswell (guitar). Together they began to write, preparing to perform. They would later add Shawn Whitworth (bass), and Whit Walker (drums) to the line up. The band stays busy writing, recording, and performing as much as possible. With an individual, style influenced from bands such as, U2, Radiohead, Muse, and many others, it's no surprise that Ravel stands out musically and inspirationally. "Music shapes our world. We want ours to give a light that shapes it into something greater", says Brandon. Here is a band that is passionate, moving, and inspiring, one that relates to its listeners and is heard throughout the music and lyrics. Ravel is a band that has found hope in reality, in something greater than themselves, and shares that hope with every listener.
