Hello there and thank you for stopping by. Right now where to begin....
My name is Mary and I'm 30! (and loving it, thought the world might've ended come this years epic birthday but its actually rather fun!), I'm very proud to say that I am Scottish through and through (Scottish by birth - British by law - Highlander by the grace of God).. I would describe my life as a rather eccentric and varied patch work quilt. The person you see before you today is not the same one who started school at Burnhead Primary (my it rest in peace) nor the one who went to Uddingston Grammar and most certainly not the one who, on joining the workforce opened the Pandora's box that the Rave scene of the late 1990's was. Not that I regret all of these things as they have helped mould me although perhaps scar me might also cover it. For all I was raised in Church I ran as far away from God and my family I could get, OK Newton Stewart isnt all that far but in these terms it was, and so many tales that this wee box isnt near big enough to share with you all.
My world was quite literally turned upside down on the 29th July 2003 when my parents and I were involved in a very near fatal head on collision.

But now I'm back living with my parents (long story) and studying for an Open Degree with the OU, currently in first year which I've chosen Intro to social sciences as my subject. I am serving as Secretary of my churches Missionary Society and I am also on the general Chruch Board. I am also involved in campaigning for OXFAM and Christian Solidarity Worldwide (and Poppy Scotland when it comes around). Its something I've become passionate about more so since Live 8 - The long walk to justice, in Edinburgh in 2005.
Happily single and proud to say I am saved. Ultimately I'd like to become a writer, which genre changes so much just now but a crime novel set in Victorian Edinburgh or Glasgow sounds good (or 1920's). I LOVE books and reading. And of course my wee Jack Russell Patch to whom I owe a debt of gratitude for raising me up after my precious cairn terrier Molly (aka The Luggage)passed away in July this year.
I say my life is a patchwork quilt because that is how I view it and there's plenty more room for new patches to ba added ;)
