About me:
Hail and Well Met !
Welcome to RaVen’s Yggdrasil.
And, I am RaVen.
Yggdrasil, pronounced IG- drə-- sil; in Norse culture is a great ash tree whose roots connect the Nine Worldes together and thus it supports the Universe. All that is, and all that exits is connected to everything else by virtue of the Yggdrasil.
In the Known Worlde, I’m a Rennie. And my New Worlde occupations are Software Development and Photographer. My life’s journey through these experiences is all the better because of the people who I met.
The Yggdrasil profile is a continuation of this connectivity, this experience of people meeting and sharing life.
Who I'd like to meet:
The beginning is good place to start; prior to December 2007, I suffered from obesity, a residual condition caused by Celiac disease. With determination, diet, and tremendous support of many friends, both problems are managed. Today, my waist is 32, with new horizons possible. But, my diet must remain wheat free; for life.
During the previous year, I discovered many illnesses as Autism, Diabetes and Cancer benefit from specific diets.
However and too often, Renaissance Festival’s do not provide alternative menu choices. Typically Festival food is marinated meats, fried foods and sugar. And, personal budget notwithstanding, you could indulge in a 6 course pleasure fest.
For myself and others: you can bring your own food into the Faire. Or, eat in the parking lot, euphemistically called tail-gating; by definition, a diminutive pleasure feast.
I’m actively seeking those of a similar experience, and requesting help to collect information regarding policy and alternative menu availability provided by Renaissance Festivals in the Untied States.
With awareness will come progress.
Your Servant,
~ RaVen

This is from a trip to Devil's Tower and Mt. Rushmore Labor Day weekend 2008. We stopped in a little town called Chugwater, Wyoming. This is inside the Chugwater Soda Fountain (pictured below) which was first built in 1914.

Once when Hubby and I were on a walk we were approaching a tree where a Flicker was perched, and it dropped a feather on the path in front of me. I felt so honored I thanked it and put the feather in my nature sketchbook when I got home. *sigh*

Western King Bird. I see a lot of these in the Spring and Summer months every time I go to the post office.
