An Interview with Michael Freda: Michael Freda was a founding member of "The Dovells." "The Dovells" were an early 1960's era peer group of "The Four Seasons" and "Dionne and The Belmonts." Their most notable hits were "The Bristol Stomp" and Here "Come Da Judge."
Original vocalist on "Stomp" Michael now resides in Jacksonville where he is surrounded by family, old fans and friends. I count myself in the last two categories.

These are not just place names, they are the only remains of the peoples who carried those names. All that is left of them is their name corrupted and codified but they refuse to be forgotten. I know the oral tales of the Tongva of California better than I know my own blood. I know of their God WEE-ott buried in the ground of Long Beach, California, 60 feet down in a stone crypt lie his remains. Sixty feet and sixteen thousand years down. But I cannot tell you the name of my own grandfather, a child of Handsome Lake's extended family nor his father's name. This is where I carry my anger, this is where I keep my outrage, this is how my ancestors stand with me, in my fogotten blood.

letter to family & friends Current mood: annoyed I just want to make a statement to my friends and family in regards to my brother Jim Dover. I would not have even gotten involved in his latest relationship, except that Jim informed me that I was to have nothing to do with Shelli when they brooke up. I know he feels a need to control everything and everyone around him, ( this is part of his Narcessistic Personality Disorder) but I will pick who I choose to associate with. I had backed away from Shelli, just because I did not want hard feelings with my brother Jim. But when she got ahold of me and sent me copies of his restraing order that stated she had beat him up over their very short relationship and pulled guns on him, I had to speak up, as everthing in his restraing order I knew to be lies. After all I saw both him & Shelli everyday for the 3 weeks she was in Sacramento, she was staying at my house (as Jim asked me to let her stay at my house), and if anyone knows anything about Jim, he would have been telling every one who would listen to him all about how she was beating him. He is the biggest Drama Queen I've ever known. Just as the story about him knowing & getting high with Janice Joplin is a lie, (Jim was about 8 years old at the time she died) Or how about the story of him being a professional truck driver since he was 12, now what state do you know that gives a professional driver's lincese to a 12 year old??? He also talks about how he had his 1st. alcoholic blackout in my Mom's livingroom at 3 years old, I'm so sure. Does he think people really belive these stories, yes due to his personality disorder, he does think everyone belives him. Read up on Narcessisim and I'm sure you will see all of these traits in Jim Dover. Anyway back to the Shelli thing, I don't feel anyone has a right to trash someones reputation like Jim has done Shelli's just because she rejected him, but I guess he has done this in the past to several
