About me:
Ravi Howard received an MFA in creative writing in 2001 from the University of Virginia, where he edited the literary magazine Meridian. He completed his undergraduate studies in journalism at Howard University in 1996.
In 2001, Howard received the Hurston-Wright Award for College Writers for the short story “Like Trees, Walking,” published in the anthology Gumbo: A Celebration of African-American Writing. Howard has published work in the literary journals Callaloo and Massachusetts Review. He has also recorded commentary for NPR’s All Things Considered.
Howard is a former television producer for NFL Films, where in 2005 he received a Sports Emmy for his work on HBO’s Inside the NFL. He currently lives in Mobile, Alabama with his wife.
