GeneralePlaying badminton, good conversation with good company, drinking fine ales, and voraciously devouring entertainment media: books, comics, films, computer games, anything that can be used to tell story really. Though I'm not convinced where it comes to opera.
MusicaBlues and Rock, mostly. In no particular order: Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, Cream, Queen, Jimi Hendrix, David Bowie. Just to show some variety, on the classical side I'll throw in Holst's seminal 'Planets' suite, and from my childhood I have an abiding love of Jeff Wayne's crazy kitsch disco-rock-opera rendition of 'The War of the Worlds'. Currently loving Australian band 'Wolfmother' to death.
FilmArrgghh. OK, in no particular order: Fight Club, Dr. Strangelove, The Usual Suspects, Withnail and I, The Lord Of The Rings (all of 'em), American History X, The Prestige, Blade Runner, Star Wars (well The Empire Strikes Back mainly, though the other five hold a special place in my heart, even if that's 'special' as in the 'special' class at school), Aliens, The Princess Bride, Once Upon a Time in the West, and of course Sin City. Probably loads of others I can't think of right now.
TelevisioneBabylon 5 (can you tell?), Firefly, Farscape, Battlestar Galactica (new one - no camp here please), 24, Lost, Myth Busters, Heroes.
LibriArrgghh take 2. Lots and lots of Science Fiction and Fantasy: all manner of Tolkien stuff, Isaac Asimov stuff, David Gemmell (damn him for dying recently :( ) stuff, the mighty Frank Herbert's Dune series, as well as his other stuff, Michael Moorcock's Eternal Champion multiverse, everything the God-among-men Terry Pratchett ever wrote, Neil Gaiman stuff, Douglas Adams of course, and not forgetting the genius that was Philip K. Dick. Currently working my way through the 'Sci-Fi Masterworks' and 'Fantasy Masterworks' series from Orion Publishing, very good. Also some non-fiction science books like 'A Brief History of Time' and 'Universe in a Nutshell' by Stephen Hawking. Then there's comics: Neil Gaiman (again), everything Frank Miller (especially Sin City), Alan Moore stuff, The Ultimates by Mark Millar and Bryan Hitch. Just starting out my comics education really.
EroiNot something I ever really think about in real life, so I'll put something really corny and horrible (though true) and say my parents, and the rest of my family and friends.

   Robin: parlo di me
Chi sono:

I like to think that the reason I have difficulty writing profiles like this is that my complex, enigmantic, and multi-layered personality defies easy definition, but it's probably more to do with a defficient imagination and a lack of anything inteesting to write. That said, I suppose I would describe myself as a logically minded but compassionate geek.

I'm an atheist, but tolerant and respectful of religious people - as long as they're tolerant and respectful of my more scientifically minded world view. I'm somewhat left-leaning politically, but not very political overall. I can veer between optimism that virges on blind naivete and dead-hearted cynicism when it comes to my fellow man.

Above all else, I am obsessed with stories, and my inclination towards the fantastical leads to my geeky love of SF and Fantasy. In terms or story-telloing medium however, I'm a complete whore and will gladly devour novels, comics, films, television programmes and games, as long as I get my story fix.

Finally, looking back at the legth of this profile I seem to be quite self-obsessed (aren't we all?) and long-winded, so I think that's my cue to end this. Thank you for reading, gifts are available from the shop on your way out.

Mi piacerebbe conoscere:
People. Preferably capable of sentient thought and basic communication. That might sound like I'm setting my sights a bit low, but actually I think I'm just being very cynical/realistic (delete as appropriate).
