With a young edge and a quest to melt faces, small-town Adelaide boys, Raw Ether, have broken the locks of The City of Church’s rock scene with their melodic original tunes, influenced by such sounds as Deep Purple, Tool, Silverchair and Hendrix. Developing a broad fan base has helped RE capture people’s ears and hearts. They have played at a variety of Adelaide’s top venues from The Crown & Anchor Hotel to Fowlers Live.
They’ve also won heats in the National Campus Battle of the Bands, Allan’s Band Competition and third runner-up in their state final of Emergenza Festival. The Boys were also graced with the opportunity to play as part of Carclew Youth Arts "Off the Couch" initiative; rockin' the crowd at Jive on the 15th of Decemeber 2006. This was the event that exposed them to the live music scene in Adelaide as it gave the industry a chance to see the potential they have.
More recently, as participants of the FUSE Festival, they were selected to take part in US film maker Norwood Cheek's Adelaide Fringe project, 10 x 10 Fringe.
Raw Ether's success shows how strong and professional a young band can be. Airplay on local stations such as Three D, and Radio Adelaide plus slots on ABC's RAGE music show is only the start of what they hope to be a long and prosperous journey. Their hard, attacking approach to music has imprinted a lasting image on many Adelaide bands and key figures amongst the industry.
The highly anticipated release of their first serious EP, ‘Sweet Vitriol’, is bound to have people talking.
Raw Ether has the drive and determination of a strong musical act. They put on a powerful live performance and are guaranteed to impress audiences wherever they play.
Raw Ether is aiming for the top and they're not gonna stop for anyone!
Yeah fo shiz. You can never have too many friends. Saturday night’s also a mate’s birthday, so I will just have to wear comfy shoes and leg it between venues. Any idea what time your set will finish? cheers
They say I'm crazy, but I can't stop loving you and I don't care what you do to me, kick me in the teeth, I'll just keep on coming, coming back to you...
