Ray Curtiss, Born and Raised in Mansfield, Ohio. Started his musical career at an early age. Growing up in a musical family, Ray started out the way most artist have.Playing Rock and Roll in his teens, just jamming with a couple of his friends from time to time. Shortly after he started to really master his guitar playing an song writing. He found himself more drawn to the real story telling that we all know as "Country Music". The way that the right tune an the right lyrics can get people onto the dance floor, spawned his hearts desire to really put himself into that scene. He was hooked the first time one of his original country songs put everyone out on the floor. Ray played all around Ohio with his early band and continued to push the edge with his own country style. In a short time after that While still calling his home Mansfield, Ohio. Ray spent most of his time with his band working an touring out of Nashville, Tennessee. In fact from 1978 to 1982 Ray spent most of his time touring, playing the clubs and opening for various artist right in the heart of the Country Music scene. He found himself at still an early time in his career being around an working with people like Tommy Cash, Johnny Russell, The Bellamy Brothers and many others. Ray found himself soon sharing the stage and opening for various artist such as Shoji Tabuchi, Little jimmy Dickens, Ferlin Husky, Lori Morgan and one of his long time favorite people who influenced him Mr. Hank Williams Jr. In 1984 Ray moved to Tarpon Springs, Florida and shortly after moving there, Ray helped form a New Band called Saddletramp. Ray took center stage again as the lead singer. Performing his original music in a sound that both Rock Lovers and Country Lovers could appreciate. Ray became a solo artist an to this day Ray still packs the clubs and local venues whenever he plays. Ray Curtiss has warmed up the stage here in some main stream venues such as The Don Caesar Hotel, The Bayfront Center, Ruth Eckerd Hall and other stages in many states.
